Tiller Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Hello, my name is Joe and I'm a walleye fisherman from MN and have recently discovered a bass fishing addiction. Been getting a lot of great info from the site on all the new bass fishing equipment since my best bass rod is over 10 years old now. I'm in the market for a new rod and have been considering a Veritas since it feels like a lot of rod for the price and want to know which model you would recommend. The rod will be mostly a jig/worm rod and will be using lures up to 1/2 oz. I'm really trying do decide between the following two: 7' M/MF regular guides 7' M/F micro guide Any recommendations or recommendations for other rods that would compare for a similar price? Thanks, Joe Quote

Thanks, Joe I just bought the 7'6" MH Winch model and am in love with it. I have decided after reading and talking with people from Abu and TW that I am going with the 7' Micro Guide for top water and for weighted plastics and jigs I am going to do with the 7'3" MH. With that 7'6" rod, I am amazined how far I can cast a small crank. Quote
cast_and_destroy Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 For a jig/worm rod I would want a litlle bit of a stiffer tip to get a good hook set. The only time you want a fast tip for soft plastics is when you're using a finesse technique. I have the veritas medium heavy action rod as my jig/worm rod and its a good rod. I would get a 7' foot medium heavy action rod with a fast tip. Quote
