Was thinking of trying a few of these out and went to Taackle Warehouses website and read the reveiws of the Z-Mans and they were'nt to good. Said they have cheap hooks and few other downfalls. Was curious what some of your experiences have been with the Z-mans brand and what would be some better options if these are sub-par. Thanks fellers.

The hook quality does seem like it has gone down with the Zman chatterbait, they blades also tarnish very quickly. I've started making my own and had great success with them. The Zman bait does get hit a lot but I've had a lot of fish come off or just never hook up with them.

i love chatterbaits! the hooks are solid..in fact i wish they were fine wire so i wouldnt miss any hook sets. you gotta have a more stout/fast tip rod or swing for the fences to push the hook thru thick lips (or give them an extra second to have it before setting). slow roll it along the bottom of lake keeping a steady low vibration. if you reel slow enough you can actually turn the blade off. give and occasional tip twitch to turn it back on and hold on b/c they crush it. its replaced my spinnerbait when around weeds or any kind of cover/pads etc. it can get covered in grass and all you have to do it give a good hard rip and the blade vibrates the grass right off. yesterday i cast a SB over weeds and it came back covered 4 times in a row. switched to my chatter and bounced it right over/thru them with no problem. and now that the fall is upon us its prime time for them. grab a white/chartreuse and have fun

The best chatterbaits out there in my opinion are by Bohonk baits. Heavy hook, strong and durable, custom made. If you're interested, I can give you his e-mail. You can PM me if you like.

They work. Black 3/8 or 1/2 oz at night destroys them. Give the fish an extra second to inhale it or you will miss it nearly every time

Anybody try the Vibrashock by Karu lures before their lawsuit with Z-Man? Glad I bought a bunch before they were knocked out of the market. Z-Man's product doesn't compare in my opinion.

Thanks for the replies fellas. Last night I picked up one of the Z-Mans brand and two of the Renosky brand J-Wills Rocker. I haven't been able to fish either yet but am looking forward to it. First impressions out of the package the Renosky brand definately seems to have a better quality hook. Does anyone have any experience with the Renosky? Would like to hear your thoughts on this brand . Thanks again.
