With such amazing hits like "Truck Yeah" and "Corn Star" I'm amazed more of you southerners aren't pounding railroad spikes into your eardrums. and what's with coffee being mentioned in almost every song?

Listening to "country" now days makes me sick. My dad had toured with Janie Fricke (doubt any or most of you will know who this is) for years in the 80's and has played the Grand Ole Opry numerous times. I was in and out of gigs at honky tonks and bars and concerts with him for years on and off until he finally split for good. My definition of Country is something different than most. I am a huge fan of Artists from way back like Hank williams, George Jones, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard etc. There are so many artists I am a fan of from 5-10 years ago and now i dislike them because they have adopted this pop country crap that the radio and CMT likes. Give me some Waylon Jennings- Ramblin Man or Hank williams- Honky Tonk Blues. George jones- If drinkin dont kill me. Thats Country to me.

There are some Artists I really like now but thats probably cause they have the original true country sound. I like fiddles and steel guitars. Jamey Johnson is one of my favorites. If yall havent already, check him out. If I do end up listening to country on the radio and its not pandora, i listen to a Texas Country station that plays Texas artists. Other than that I listen to rock/metal. You can keep your Taylor swift, Red solo cup, Truck yeah, Motorboatin, honky tonk bodonkadonk. I will turn up some Country boy can survive.

He is the best "new" country singer out there.

I really like Hank III and Eric Church too though.

I like Hank 3 and that's about as far as I go listening to country. I grew up listening to country in the 70's and 80's only because my grandfather listened to it. When the ol' lady drives, I'm forced to listen to the crap they call country by todays standards.

You sir get an upvote for hating that song. That song makes me want to run into oncoming traffic. It's like a nursery rhyme for college kids and adults that haven't let go of their college days.

I can not stand most new country. Even some of the folks that have been around for a long time who have tried to cash in on the new style country and failed miserably. I do like some of the "Hick hop" guys like Colt Ford. Also like Hank III, Eric Church, Luke Bryan, and Randy Houser. We have a country legends station here that only plays songs that are 10 years old or older that I like because it plays what I consider true country music.

I like the old and some of the new. Miranda Lambert and Sugarland come to mind. King George

even plays around with some "country pop" on occasion. What I don't like about radio is our local

(Memphis) stations play a lot of crap from 3-4-5 years ago that I didn't like then! Most of these songs

never even made it to the Top 10. More disappointing is that these stations don't play what's hot and

up-and-coming. On Sunday morning we get the Kix Brooks American Country Countdown. A few weeks

ago I hadn't heard 4 of the top 10. Local radio sucks!

Eli Young Band and Reckless Kelly and King George is the only way to roll!!!

As for the newer stuff I have to admit that I have lost my taste for most of it

I do like guys like Eric Church and Brantley Gilbert they seem to have a good mix of the new and the old.

I use pandora, Hank Williams Jr station and a George Strait station are the only way to roll thumbs down to Kenney Chesney unless it is before the beach boy in him and poor grammar hooks took over. country today sure is different.

You guys arent alone. Pandora keeps trying to force kenny chesney on me on 2-3 stations. Someone really needs to sit kenny and tim mcgraw down and ask them to stop making music. Both of them have been horrible for 10+ years. They both ALWAYS have a crappy song on the local radio rotation.

I dont mind the Cary Underwoods and Miranda Lamberts out there, but why does EVERY song they release have to be about being mad at and getting revenge on some dude?

Eric Church, Luke Bryan, and Jamey Johnson are the best out there IMO.

Dont forget the dude from staind, bon jovi, sheryle crow, kid rock, michelle branch, brett michaels,etc...

I guess its our fault as a society for buying the records.

Aaron Lewis isn't bad. I may be in the minority on this but I like him. Matter of fact, staind is my favorite band.I have always liked him. His country side is all original and truthful. He didn't give in to this pop country culture just to get a radio hit and I totally respect that. He is a true original artist which puts him ahead of 93% of other country artists.

This has been the same way forever, always a leaving you/revenge song. Remember last generation? Lorie morgan, Pam tillis, reba etc

I do not listen to country. I grew up with a grandmother that listened to Conway twitty and stuff like that. I also remember watching Grand ole opry on tv with her. I remember seeing only one maybe two electric instrument on stage. When we would watch it. When I hear stuff like that I think of her.

I was flipping through the channels once and stopped on what I thought was a rock concert. There was a stack of amps on stage full of electric instruments. Turns out it was some county awards show. I called my buddy the next day and asked him when did county get loud. He laughed and said a while ago.

Also a few weeks ago. I was also flipping though the channels. I came across what I thought was a rock video. Here is the video.

I have never seen a country music video look like that. If that is what there calling country now days. I am gald I am not a fan.
