Super User Bassn Blvd Posted August 20, 2012 Super User Posted August 20, 2012 is what I'll be doing when I get up tomorrow morning. The wife and I drop our "little man" off for his first day of pre-K school and I'm not sure how I'm going to do. I can't let the little guy see my eyes fill up and I certainly can't shed a tear infront of the wife. He's only in school for three hours, but it's going to seem like eternity until I pick him up. I can't wait to hear him excitingly describe his first day. I think I'm more nervous about him going to school than he is, lol. Kids grow up way to fast. Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted August 20, 2012 Super User Posted August 20, 2012 They do grow up fast I was gone as you know for a few months when I seen my boys they seemed so big and different my Noah will be going to pre K this year also I'm not gonna be there for the first few month of it. Quote

Super User Fishing Rhino Posted August 20, 2012 Super User Posted August 20, 2012 If you ever have a daughter, I want an invite to her wedding. You'll need a couple of boxes of tissues just to make it down the aisle. Then you'll have an aching knot in your throat as you try to say "Her mother and I do", when asked who gives this woman to this man. I didn't get the least bit emotional when either or our two daughters were off to their first day of school. But walking our younger daughter down the aisle was a whole 'nother experience. I was fine as we got ready to walk the aisle, and prior to that. I was fine when I was able to join my wife in the congregation, after I finally squawked out those fateful words. The reception was fine. But that walk down the aisle with her on my arm was too much for me. Quote
Super User South FLA Posted August 20, 2012 Super User Posted August 20, 2012 I guess I am in the same club, Adam is headed out early tomorrow for his first day at a new school, but he is going full time Pre K 3-4 so let us see how it goes. The first week or two is always rough though. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted August 20, 2012 Super User Posted August 20, 2012 Well, this is for you: Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted August 20, 2012 Super User Posted August 20, 2012 It really gets you when they tell you to stay in the car. They don't need to be walked to class anymore. Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted August 20, 2012 Author Super User Posted August 20, 2012 Man up ya crybaby Yea, yea, yea. I made it without any tears. Besides, once I saw his teacher I was all miles, . Lol,the wife and I walked him to his classroom. Before I could even say anything, he gave us a hug and said "I'll see ya later" and ran off to play with the other kids. The little sht never even looked back, lol. Rhino, At heart I always wanted a little girl but I'm glad I don't. Most of my friends have little girls and they (dads) are constantly on the lookout, lol. Quote

Super User slonezp Posted August 21, 2012 Super User Posted August 21, 2012 Glad it went smoothly. My boy is 22 now, but I remember what he was wearing the first day of preschool. The tears I cried for him were instances where I could have lost him. At 14, he fell thru the ice while taking a short cut over a lake, and last year contracted MRSA and was hospitalized. Don't get me started on girls. Don't have any of my own but raised my stepdaughter since she was 6. She's now 23. High school was tough on me with her. Still remember where and when we had the "Talk", My tears happened when she was 16 and competing in the Miss Teen IL pageant. When I saw her up on stage, I actually walked out because I couldn't contain my tears. That little girl I watched horror movies with, and ate peanut butter cups withl was finally a woman. She has learned not to bring boyfriends around me. None of them are good enough and I make it known how I feel. Quote
Super User MCS Posted August 22, 2012 Super User Posted August 22, 2012 I hear you guys. Man I just put my boy on the bus for the first time today. My little girl is 1 not looking forward to her getting older. Sometimes I wish you could just stop them in time so they won't loose that innocents. Quote
