Dixon Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 I going out fishing tomorrow at West Point lake in GA. We have had a ton of rain and all lakes are pretty muddy. Going to be 49 degrees for a high. So water temp in mid 40s and very muddy water. Not great conditions. what would you throw? Quote
Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted February 7, 2010 Super User Posted February 7, 2010 Its all about vibration in dirty water and dark colors are normally preferred as is a slow presentation.Black/blue rage craw with rattles. Black/chart large single colorado blade spinnerbait. Black/blue chatterbait with gold blade. 8 inch flappin tail Gambler worm. Quote
River Rat316 Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Dark Colored jig with some contrast Black blue or Black red, even just straight black. Large trailer and loud rattles. Second choice would be a Spinnerbait with a single colorado worked slow, Third would be (may not be right but I have confidence in them) Is a all white spinner bait with a white blade burned aorund cover looking for a reaction strike, my largest 2 bass have come doing this in cold water. DINK WHISPERER Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Bulky Black and Blue jig and craw and a 10" Black worm both worked slooooow. Quote
bobbyc Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 In the mudiest water, i prefer the largest spinnerbait i have with a single blade. Quote
brushhoggin Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 chatterbaits. my buddy destroys bass in muddy water on a chatterbait and i still cant bring myself to buy a few. havin too much fun topwaterin. which is another good alternative for you. rage frog. last but never least, the midnight special Quote
little_stephen Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 apparently ur already fishing, but ur missing out if ur not throwing a Jig - Id go with one with a big profile & trailer with rattles. Black, with some blue in the skirt! u can rarely go wrong with a black jig in the muddy stuff! If that doesnt work, I LOVE fishing something like the Zoom Ole' Monster....... ive got mixd reviews on the idea. but toss one in Pumpkin Or Black and work it slowly but constantly. (It works for me even on smaller bass here in ohio in the 2-3 lbs range.) Quote
