My trusty Rapala Pro weigh scale just crapped out on me after 2 years.

What do you guys use and recommend?

Is there a better one than the Rapala?

Personally,

I use an X tool scale, and for the money, feel it performs very well. On close fish though, I would ALWAYS recommend using a balance beam just to be safe. When testing accuracy, I have found my personal scale to always be within two ounces of the correct weight. So, if your goal is to see if that fish looks like hes four pounds, truly is, and a tournament isn't on the line, I would say go for it!

Dunno what's out there. I have always looked at digitals with narrowed eyes. Electronics, and LCD, just don't last.

I have two Chatillon spring scales I've had for 25 years. I keep them calibrated with exercise weights. Another choice, I don't own but hear good things, is the BocaGrip.

I use the Rapala scales also in the 15# and 50#.

A 50# failed recently and when I checked inside to see why, I found that the wires had been cut by the housing. They were not assembled with care and two of the wires were caught between the two case halves.

I have the two to double check the weight when I catch a large bass and also have the 50# in case I land a bass over 15#. I also check their accuracy with a couple of certified weights and replace them when the accuracy diminishes.

Took mine apart and found the same thing.

I remember weighing a 10lb. weight from my weight set and it weighed 10.00 on the scale. maybe I'll just get another one and be more careful. An extra 1/2" of wire to hook up the battery would be nice on these though.
