jj'sbassinforfun Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Congrats, its a wonderful reel. I have mine mounted on a MH Worm and Jig Sellus, but they are amazing on an Abu Veritas. Convergence Crankbait CVCC70MHB is on the way. Quote
jj'sbassinforfun Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 I finally got a chance to use my Chronarch yesterday(played hookie from work). Very impressed with it and its casting distance. I used it on my Powell Diesel Glass 7' MH. Threw some DT-16, 6XD's, DD22's all the way down to some DT-6's. No issues with 2 brakes on and loose as a goose even with 20 MPH winds. Still waiting on my CVCC70MHB, But hopefully it will compare to the Powell. Quote
BASSHUNTER1961 Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 The more you use it the better it gets.... I have mine on a 7'6" Daiwa Jupiter H and I can cast a hollow frog(Pad Crasher) a mile, and it throws 5" Senkos with ease. You will love your new reel. Quote
Super User MarkH024 Posted August 31, 2012 Super User Posted August 31, 2012 Got mine. 200E5. Cranks are waiting and ill be out this weekend. Can't wait! Quote
Super User LgMouthGambler Posted August 31, 2012 Super User Posted August 31, 2012 Looks like Shimano is still alive and kicking. So much for the down talk, LOL.Aaaaaaaaaaaaanyway, glad to see everyone is enjoying these fine reels. I know I do! Quote

So much for the down talk, LOL.Aaaaaaaaaaaaanyway, glad to see everyone is enjoying these fine reels. I know I do! I also bought my son a Citica g 200g5(he didn't want a white or green reel ???). He's a right hander so we had more options for him!! We tuned it up some with the extra bearing under the crank shaft. Added the smooth drag washers. A bit of polishing and some abec 5's on the spool. He's very happy with it and he's chucking the brutes on his powell(same as mine). We both beat the daylights out of them for a solid 8 hours with a half hour lunch break. No issues with either. We'll be back out tomorrow and with the water temps still hovering close to 80ºF. I think we'll get to use them hard again. A little lube on the bearings tonight and some thin grease on the break ring. They will be ready for action. MarkH024, let me know what you think once you use yours? But i bet you love it too! Quote
Super User MarkH024 Posted August 31, 2012 Super User Posted August 31, 2012 I have had Curados for a while. I love them, so I'm sure the Chronarch will satisfy equally if not more. I also have a few Quantum reels too that I like a lot, so I'm not really on this Shimano only bandwagon. If I did have to choose between them, I'd take my Shimanos but the Quantums I do have are nice reels too. I'll let you know the results after the weekend. Quote
jj'sbassinforfun Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 I'm also not just a Shimano guy. I have some Diawa, Abu and Ardent's too. I grew up throwing Abu round reels and still keep some ready to fish. About the only brand I haven't had my hands on is the Okuma. Looking at a Kumato. Maybe this spring? Quote

I've also been taking a good look at Okuma. That Helios would look really good on a Powell Quote
