bassguytom Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Hi everyone, I just joined and have a question. I just started using a jig yesterday for bass and landed 2 smouthmouth over 4 pounds in the lake I fish here in Pa. What is the best way to fish these? I was slowly dragging it over the bottom when I felt the pickup and set the hook. Any info. You can provide would be great. I think I have found a new favorite method! Thanks, Quote
gar-tracker Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 If you caught 2 4lb smallies I wouldn't change a thing on the present presentation. Try to imagine a crawdad popping along the rocks, if that don't work swim it back. Quote

Unknownwaters Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 I personally try to kinda "hop" it along the bottom. Sometimes ill just drag it. One thing that always worked for me when the strike zone is small would be to sorta twitch it right infront of logs without moving it forwards much. Hard to describe exactly what I did. Anyways, probably my favorite lure to fish with. Quote

lazeebum Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 The only wrong way to fish a jig, is for it to stay dry. Nice catch. Quote
