fishingfourfun Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 I went fishing on the Miami Canal yesterday an observed fish surfacing all over the place. I could not get a look at what type of fish these were. I tried beetle spins, poppers, and all types of search baits with no avail. Does anyone have an idea what type of fish exhibit this type of behavior. I am also looking for some advice to catch more bass out of this canal. I was successful catching a couple of smaller bass during the day. Will I have to change to the dreaded worm fishing? Quote
Shane Procell Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 They are most likely armoured catfish and garfish. Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted August 12, 2012 Super User Posted August 12, 2012 X2 on what Shane said. Sometimes mudfish to. Miami Canal is frog country. We caught 30 something bass a few weeks ago out of Miami Canal. Quote
GLADES Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 It is trick worm country too. A worm slowly dropped over the ledge is usually fish on. Quote
