Yesterday my fiance and I went and sealed the deal. We've been together or going on 4 years and have a 1 year old baby(I dont do months) together.

Got one question for you married guys though. Why does a wedding band seem to weigh so much more than other rings? Im being serious its like its sitting there saying "Hey Bud!"

What is your ring made of? Mine is tungsten so it is heavier than a normal ring.

Congratulations!.....You will get used to it, I feel like I am missing something if I ever do take it off.

Mine is an el cheapo, TRITON Titanium, very light, very thick, and very cheap it was $150 at a nice jewlery store.

Mine is tungsten as well, teased her saying if I get in a bind I could use it on a carolina rig.

It all depends on the material. My engagement ring is a stainless steel one with some gaelic writing on it and is heavier and thicker than my tungsten wedding band.

You get used to it, and then it feels weird to take it off. Tungsten is definitely a heavy one. Mine's made of lead to be sure I go first.

Mine got bent and is now oval shape the jeweler said they could resize it but I said " NO it's finally comfortable"

Ya, it's weird at first. I fidgeted with mine for a few months before I got used to it.

Just make sure it's a snug fit. Mine slipped off while fishing, and into the drink it went! Keri was fishing with me and witnessed it, so no explaining to do there.

I was able to get an exact replacement - that fit better - but still, it's not THE one used at the wedding. My dad told me later that he was on his 4th band. Apparently his wears down over the years and will break if it gets too thin. So he replaces it with a new one. Who knew?

The actual weight of the ring means nothing. The ring is a symbol that you have elected to love and provide for your wife and family and to raise your kids in the best manner you know how. It's a heavy burden, which makes it the heaviest ring you will ever wear.

Congrats on tying the knot. I lost my wedding band when canoeing/swimming with the wife. I never replaced it as I didn't fell it was a big deal. We are still married going on 43 years.

I got a cheap titanium one. It's very light and durable. At first I noticed it but now I have to feel or look for it to know it's there. For some reason I have to take it off to sleep, that's the only time I notice it for some reason.

You will not realize it is there.

I have taken mine off only when I had knee surgery. Otherwise I wear it all the time and never realize it is there.

Yea, Ive never been married. Engaged twice before now and never made it. When we got to this point I heard, ring ring ring. Then once we buy them she tells me that you dont have to have a ring. My first reaction was seriously! Lets take em back lol. Needless to say that didnt fly. And I'll admit when she said that I was thinking new fishing reel!!!

I made it for just shy of twenty years before I started wearing a wedding ring.

Here I was sitting in the bar after attending a food show with my banquet manager waiting for our host's dinner to begin. Some little gal asks me if we have time for a quickie, which being hopelessly married, I took as too mean just one more drink. Duh! It was less than one month after the story was being constantly repeated by this witness that I was presented with a wedding band for our 20th Anniversary. That wasn't enough though as two of my bartenders (females-go figure) talked me into footing the bill for another bauble for the wife too.

That was many years ago and I have learned my lesson. Always go alone to a food show!

Actually, I just recently put mine back on after a 6 year hiatus. Took a couple of weeks, but now I don't notice it, and I never take it off. Because of being a mechanic, mine is cheap white gold instead of platinum like hers.
