Revo S Or Bass Pro Pq

I got a 100 dollar gift card for my bday and am thinking about getting another reel. I have the Abu Silver Max and love the quality. I was thinking about moving up to the Revo S. They are 99 dollars.

My other option is the Pro Qualifier. I have one that I use for cranking and love it.

Kinda torn here. What are the pros and cons of each?

The big question is what are you going to be using it for?

If you want pure strength and cranking power the revo is the way to go perfect for slop fishing.

I wouldn't get rid of a citica great reel and it has other uses in certain situations than having 3 of the same reel. IMHO

I love my Citica for cranking, wouldn't use anything else. It is slow soft and works well in open water.

I would probably get the S. Cant go wrong with either reel i dont think. You might want to wait a couple months a get a 3rd generation S. Looks like an improvement from the one on the market now.

I'd save a couple more bucks for the sx or buy the s and trade Clayton for his citica (if its an E series). I wouldn't trade my E series for anything. If you're set on spending no more than your gift card, see if they still have some gold carbonlites in stock or check out the Caenan. My brother swears by his Caenan. He uses it over his chronarch and sx.

If you're only looking at those two, i'd go with the s. My pq was noisy out of the box and so were the next two I grabbed when I returned it. The sales guy told me after I decided on the carbonlite instead, that the noise is common on the pq. The s felt great but I didn't like how you access the brakes.

I like them both, Pretty much the same reels inside,. The PQ has some nice option like dual braking and multiple gear options thats handy for the user. About the only plus is the S has an aluminum crank side plate where the PQ has graphite.

I have owned and fished both. I prefer the feel of the PQ in my hand. Just a suggestion, but if you have never had either, and have the opportunity, take a trip to a bass pro and mount them on the rod you will be fishing. See if one or other is more comfortable in your hand.

As stated earlier, both are very good reels. The PQ has several different gear options. In my opinion, you can't make a bad decision either way.

I jig fish 90% of the time so I thought I would make my Silver Max, which is my main jig set up and move it to something like a frog or finese rig.

That way giving me a better and smoother reel for jig fishing. Only draw back to both reels is no flipping or pitching switch.

That SX sure is pretty. I like the bent star and handle. That is one turn off on the S model. I have 60 dollar BP reels that have fancier handles then it

Yea the new SX coming out is supposed to be better than the previous model. Different type of Magnetic breaking. I guess its suppose to work pretty good.
