Unknownwaters Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Anybody here go after shoal bass often? I have been contemplating fishing for them on the Chattahoochee river but do not know much about them. Best advice I have found is to toss crayfish imitations in the same place you would fish for trout in the shoals. Also, what would you consider to be a trophy shoalie? What is the biggest you have ever caught? Quote
fishingkidPA Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 i just read up on them. Apparently they fight harder than a largemouth, and you fish for them like you would a smallmouth. they say adult size is 12-18 inches which is somewhat similar to other basses. they are endangered in Alabama. They said on the Chattahoochee C&R only with quick release. good luck. Quote
