BASSHUNTER1961 Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 I'm going to look at the CH201E7 later today, and want to be sure as to what the deal is. Is this really the old E series like the Citica and Curado E Series were, or something new? I'm either going with the CuradoG or the Chronarch 201E7....... Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted August 7, 2012 Super User Posted August 7, 2012 It's an e, bit with a god awful 2 tone scheme. Quote
Super User new2BC4bass Posted August 7, 2012 Super User Posted August 7, 2012 It's an e, bit with a god awful 2 tone scheme. \ Now, see, this is where personal taste comes in. I actually like this color combo (from pictures I've seen) better than the Curado green (which I have). Quote
Super User LgMouthGambler Posted August 7, 2012 Super User Posted August 7, 2012 It's an e, bit with a god awful 2 tone scheme. its not just an E, dont listen to people that have no experience with them. Its an E body style, which is how Shimano has their line ups. To compare it to the Curado E, it has better drag system, better spool, better line guide, and is worth the extra money. The color is not that bad, just takes some getting used to. I like the way mine looks on the Sellus rod. Quote
Super User *Hootie Posted August 7, 2012 Super User Posted August 7, 2012 I like the way mine looks on the Sellus rod. I have been considering mounting mine on the 2 Duckett Micro Magics I already have, but I just can't seem to break away from my Dobyns rods. I gotta say, though, they sure would look great, white reel on a white rod. hmmm. Hootie Quote
Super User J Francho Posted August 7, 2012 Super User Posted August 7, 2012 They look good on Dobyns =) Quote

Even still, I will probobly stay with the Sellus, it hasnt disappointed yet. Quote
Diggy Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 The chronarch coloring is sexy imo, downright delicious I say Quote
BASSHUNTER1961 Posted August 7, 2012 Author Posted August 7, 2012 Well, I bit the bullet and bought the Chronarch 201E7. It is down right gorgeous in my opinion. I'm going to go give it a test run, and I'll be back with a report. Quote

They're the exact same reel as the Curado E series, minus a double anodized spool and handle. It's been discussed a thousand times, regardless of what you think you know. Kenichi Iida has confirmed it, Dan Thorburn has confirmed it, far too many people out there that DO know have confirmed it. I've seen no difference other than the gear ratio, either. They perform as well as, but no better than, my E series Curado reels. I've had them down to bare bones and there's zero difference. 4 Quote
Capt.Bob Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Nice reel, but a Diawa rod?????? I just had to say that, It looks as good as the new Stradics!!! is it the same incandescent white they use on the Stradic? But really, it would look a lot better on a St. Croix LEC68MXF!! Quote

In time I will upgrade my rods, but right now I'm doing the reel upgrades.......... I'm not sure if it's the same color as the Stradics, but it sure is nice. The black aso has tiny blue metal-flake which really gives it a nice look. Quote
smr913 Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 I have one and love it. It looks oh so good on my Cumara 68MHXF. Quote
Super User tomustang Posted August 9, 2012 Super User Posted August 9, 2012 I really think it would match an imperial stormtrooper's blaster rifle Quote

I think you forgot that the lefty Chronarchs have a pink pinion yoke now. Huge difference in performance, lol. Quote
