The Young Gun Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 So I've recently started to throw swimbaits in the 3-4oz size and range and im using this 7ft heavy rod rated for that size lures and this spinning matching reel. Trying to reel in this lure isn't easy at all but I've been managing. I've found this baitcaster in my neighbors garage and was wondering if it's worth trying to buy from him and how much I should offer? Take in mind I'm 15 and have limited income. If its not worth it, anybody know of or have a reel that is cheap but will work? Thanks a ton! It's a KMART brand and on the insignia says 330.. Anyone familiar? I'll post a picture in a minute Quote
Super User rockchalk06 Posted August 7, 2012 Super User Posted August 7, 2012 I'm no expert but that looks like a saltwater rig. Might be a bit big for bass. Quote
The Young Gun Posted August 7, 2012 Author Posted August 7, 2012 The rod is an 8ft eagle claw trolling rod it says.. It is to big for a swimbait reel? Not the rod.. Quote
Michael DiNardo Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 I wouldn't waste my money. I would get an Abu Garcia 4600 or 5500 and you should be comfortably under a hundie. Mike Quote
