bassheel Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Hey guys I need yor input. Im looking for a rod to throw 5'' senkos and ikas. Dont really want a seven footer maybe something longer than 6'6" but shorter than 7. I have all crucial rods right now just looking for another option as far as lenth goes. I dont like how my 7' balances wiith my e7. I was using a 7 mh/fast for it. Buget $180 maybe a tad more. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted August 6, 2012 Super User Posted August 6, 2012 St. Croix Avid AVS68MXF I prefer spinning tackle for weightless soft plastics, but if you are looking for a baitcaster, this is the comp: AVC68MXF Quote

BigMoneyGrip Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 I have a Falcon Cara T7 Micro Guide Casting Rods 6'10" Med Hvy and it seems good to me. It's paired with a Curado 50E. Quote
38 Super Fan Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 I too like the Falcon Caras, they have a weightless worm rod, I've fished senkos on my 6'10" finese jig Cara and it handles them nice. Quote
Super User new2BC4bass Posted August 13, 2012 Super User Posted August 13, 2012 It is longer than you want, but you could try the balance with your reel if there is a shop near you that still has one of the Cumara 7'2" MHF rods. This rod is listed as a Senko/Fat Ika rod. It does quite a few things well. Personally I don't notice a tip heaviness, but that could just be my lack of perception. My wife tells me I don't have any. EDIT: Take a look at the Fenwick Elite Tech Smallmouth rods. They have a couple in the 6'9"/6'10" range that might fit the bill. I haven't thrown a Senko with my 6'10" MF (rated 1/8-3/8) yet, but have fished a fluke on it. They also sell a 6'9" MXF (rated 3/8-5/8) and 6'9" MHF (rated 3/8-1). I think the last rod would be the best choice in the series for what you want to do. Quote
elhoward622 Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 I use a 6'9" St.Croix Mojo Bass Dropshot rod. It has a nice X-fast tip and really sticks them. Also, for just under $100 it is a great deal. Quote
smr913 Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 6'8" Cumara MHXF. It's a sweet rod and can probably be found in your price range. Quote
hmongkidBee Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 6'8" Cumara MHXF. It's a sweet rod and can probably be found in your price range. it's an awesome awesome rod especially in that price point. If you want longer length for those farther casts, get the 7'2" mhxf rod. Quote
