Veritas Crankbait?

Has anyone used the Veritas Crankbait rod? I am looking for a decently price crankbait rod and I already like my Veritas casting rod. If not the Veritas, what other rods would you recommend? Thanks

I haven't used it but I have heard good feedback from those that have on forums. There are plenty of cranking rod threads in the search function, endless info. I use a bps cranking stick which serves its purpose for me, I bought it when it was on sale for 50 bucks or so.

It all depends on what length and power you need, right now for the money a 7' Falcon BuCoo 4-17 is a good rod, 1/4 to 1/2oz rating and the only thing I don't like about the rod is at 1/2oz it truly is maxed out, I would worry trying to throw anything over 1/2oz in weight. The BuCoo 5-17 is the MH version and has a wider lure rating at 1/4oz to 3/4oz, I think it is a little to much for a 1/4oz bait but anything 3/8oz up to the 3/4oz would work great and the best part is these are very affordable.

Nice. Thank you. I'm looking for something around 7ft, M-MH power. Something I can fish fairly shallow but still be able to throw some deeper diving crankbaits with. I've heard a lot of good about the Bucoo so I'll definitely keep that one in mind.

You need to look at the Denali Jadewood cranking rods. They have both a Med. and MH in 7ft. I use the 7ft. Med. and it is all I need for the crankbaits I throw. These rods sell for $99, have a very small blank and are very lightweight. They come with a Limited Lifetime Warranty. I don't think you can find a nicer rod in this price range.

I love the bucoo series, they have the gulf cranker model that is 7'6 medium but like others have said, it's nowhere near adequate for deep divers. the 7' model is great for square bills and cranks down to maybe 8'. I did however pick up the winch in 7'6 mh moderate the other day in the tackle store and was really impressed! this rod will be my next deep crank rod! it's super light with a great action

I use a Medium Veritas for cranking and have great success. However, If I could go back and get another I would get a MH though just for that extra backbone setting the hook when needed.

If you havent already considered it, take a good look at the Powell Diesel Glass crankbait rod. It has that nice parabolic bend that makes glass awesome for cranks, but the Powell only weighs 3 oz It's a 7' MH, so I think it'll suit you very well.

I have the Veritas winch model in 7'6" MH/M and love it. Very light, sensitive, and comfortable to hold. I would recommend one to anybody!
