BASSHUNTER1961 Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 I have been looking for a heavy rod for throwing frogs in the slop, and came across a rod today at Walmart. It's a Daiwa Jupiter 7'6" H with a telescopic handle. It was in the clearance bin for $19.99 so I grabbed it as they were selling for $70 or $80 dollars earlier this year. It throws a frog a mile as well as a Senko, and it's very light for it's length, and has great sensitivity along with backbone to spare. Question is, how do these telescopic rods hold up? Will the handle split where the top of the rod enters the handle? I imagine they are pretty durable considering their intended use, but I've never owned on before. I figured for $20.00 I couldn't go wrong. Quote
Super User LgMouthGambler Posted August 3, 2012 Super User Posted August 3, 2012 Just got a Selluse H Flipping rod a couple of weeks ago. So far so good. People say they are pretty solid. Quote
BASSHUNTER1961 Posted August 4, 2012 Author Posted August 4, 2012 Thats good to know...... I just got back from the pond with my son, and I pulled a nice 4.85 pounder out of the slop with it, and it was very impressive. I might put my Citica on it, but I gave it a test run with the Black Max today. I think it's a very impressive rod for the money. Here is the fish I pulled out earlier with it. Chris W Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 I have had several telescoping rods for 10 or 15 years with no trouble out of them. Just take care of it and it will last a long time. Quote
