When do you prefer weightless texas rigged this over a weighted texas rig? When is it better to wacky rig? How to wacky rig without hooking on everything. Thanks for the responses in advance but my main question is weightless vs weighted.

I have had a ton of success fishing a 4" senko on a flick shake head this year in the Allegheny River, typically close to the dams where there is a lot of current. I think it gets the bait in the strike zone and keeps it there instead of “washing to the top”.

Texas rigging (and worm fishing in general) is usually better fished weightless. The longer the fall, the longer the fish has to react to it. If it's windy or there is current, that's when you'd want to weight it. I prefer 1/8th or 3/16th myself. The power of the Senko really shows in Wacky rigging though. If you are going to Texas rig there are far better choices for worms than a Senko because it won't have the correct action. You want a Senko to fall slowly and have the most realistic action, both in which the Wacky rig will give you.

Well your really missing out then. I guess someone forgot to tell the multiple 5 and 6+ lb fish I have caught around here on some form of a weighted senko that it is not suposed to be effective. I fish them weightless plenty too, there is no wrong way to fish one.

A T-rig, C-rig, shakeyhead, flick shake, wacky rig, all great ways to fish a senko. One of my biggest fish this year was on a T-rigged 7 incher pitched into a brushpile. I like a wacky rig in areas where there aren't many snags, docks and over weeds are a couple of my favorite places. If you really want to fish a wacky rig around heavier cover then get a hook with a fiber or wire guard but be warned they will mess with your hook up ratio, at least they do with mine.
