Nashua Nev Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 just as easy as a heavy jig , weedless with maybe a craw trailer ? casting into the weeds and trying to get thru to the bottom with the heavy weight? Quote
BassinMD Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 For punching I run pretty much the same rig all the time 1-1.25 oz tungsten pegged a punch skirt most of the time, heavy hook for me it's 4/0 straight shenk flippin hook and I like gambler creature with the skirt and without I like jackall sasuteki craw, slippage through great and has good claw action on the way down. You can use a jig but it is a real pain in thicker stuff. Quote
BassCats Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 1 1/4 ounce Oldham Eye Max Jig. He designed this jig for penetrating thick grass like hydrilla. http://www.oldhamjigs.com/ Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted August 5, 2012 Super User Posted August 5, 2012 For punching mats I START with a 1 oz. pegged tungsten sinker with a straight shank flipping hook and a plastic bait that slips in and out easy without any flappy appendages. Beavers, tubes, senkos, etc.... yes..........a senko with a pegged 1 oz. weight..........try it. Quote
