BASSHUNTER1961 Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 Here I am about 3 years ago with my PB. Caught it at dusk out of my canoe on a Wave Worm (Tiki Stick) in silver shad. I wish we had a better camera that day but it was a 35mm disposable. Uploaded with ImageShack.us Quote
BASSHUNTER1961 Posted August 3, 2012 Author Posted August 3, 2012 Is this the one between 8 and 9 pounds? Yep.... Quote
shimmy Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 I give up. I have officially changed my PB status to accommodate this site. 5 Quote

BASSHUNTER1961 Posted August 3, 2012 Author Posted August 3, 2012 I give up. I have officially changed my PB status to accommodate this site. Your very funny..... Like I have said in other posts, you can not guess how much a fish weights by a photo. Oh, let me change to accommodate you, it weights 3.25lbs. Quote
IMPACT01 Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 I will be nice. That is not even close to 8-9 lbs. Your hands cover the whole body? Are you 7 ft tall? I am 6.2 here is a 5 or so lb fish. As a comparison.... / I don't want to argue with you, but if you go making big claims and not producing clear accurate photos with weights taken on a scale! People are going to laugh at you. Just Sayin ... Quote

I'm 6'1" and in that photo I weighted 325lbs. a whole lot bigger than you are. I struggle to get my hand in an XL glove just for comparison. Needless to say, It matters not what you or anyone else thinks, as my friend and I know that's all that matters to me. Quote
IMPACT01 Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Just tring to help ya out man! Don't get all wound up. I could care less how big the fish is. You wen't out and caught fish and had fun. That's what really matters. I am just telling you if you have bad photos and make big claims people are going to call you on them. I wish you good luck bro! Quote

shimmy Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Well lets state the obvious. That is a great fish and the memory will last forever and i'd love to catch that thing any day. Nevertheless, if fishing is not about the weight and all about catching, then there is absolutely no conceivable reason to add a few pounds to the fish's weight since it doesn't matter. Here is a good comparison of a 6 pounder to yours. ww2Farmer http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/105658-goodbye-july/ Looks like a bigger stronger guy like you as well so should be good for comparison, and he isn't doing the long arm extension. Not sure what you weighed it on (maybe you didn't even weigh it and did the old measurement mulligan stuff to plug into online). One consistent problem i find are the fish weighed on these ancient artifacts. They can give a man a PB on a bad fishing day. And yes we all know the old adage, "can't tell by a photo", but there is such an incredible difference in size between a 5-6 and 8-9 pounder regardless of the size of the fisherman and mm camera. They should ban these scales from fishing. Or at least market them at 200 dollars so no one ever buys them. Quote
shimmy Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 You caught that bluegill on the fat ika??? That is awesome. Looks like a lot of fun out there. How big do the bass get in that little pond? Attached to a culvert to another lake or is it just an isolated pond? Looks kinda small. Looks like an incredibly fun fishing pond. While i do work for the bass police, i do enjoy all of the posts so keep em coming. Quote

I felt the bit set the hook and told my son as I was pulling it in "this is a little guy" and found this thing swinging from the hook. This is a culvert to a 20 acre pond, and the fishing is just fantastic, some really nice fish here.. The massachusetts state record is 15.8 lbs and said to have been caught in Sampson Pond, but most of the locals believe it came from this spot, and not Sampson Pond........ Quote
