Now that I have your attention, I would like to know, does anybody use football jigs anywhere besides rocks? How about wood, or just any old shoreline?

I had some success with it on a leafy/sandy bottom on a pond I fished one time.

I normally toss them under overhangs, and it is usually a pretty sandy/soft bottom, and bass eat them.

The jig police will not fine you for throwing 'em around wood - one thing you do want to watch though is that the hook gap is not too open or they will definetly hang up more.

They actually work well around wood, provided it's enough of a brush guard. The head hits the wood, and does a little "kickout" like an arkie head.

Thanks J Francho, thats just what I wanted to hear. Got a bunch of em, but the lake where I fish has a lot of wood, but very few rocks.
