wishin4fishin Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 I can't imagine this question hasn't been asked B4, but I really can't find anything when I run this question through the search. Do both retailers really manufacture proprietary hardbaits, or is somebody else contracted? The Cabela's shad hardbaits look kind of close to Rapala Shads, but I can't be sure from just looking at a catalog. Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted January 30, 2010 Super User Posted January 30, 2010 Since I have never heard of either one owning and operating mfgs for baits, my guess is the lowest bidder like the BPS rods and reels. Quote
wishin4fishin Posted January 30, 2010 Author Posted January 30, 2010 Since I have never heard of either one owning and operating mfgs for baits, my guess is the lowest bidder like the BPS rods and reels. So is that why so many of the BPS reels look almost exactly like Abus? Quote
Wild Bill [NY] Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 I would wager they are made in Chinese factories. Quote
shootermcbob Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 I don't know where they are manufactured, but the Cabela's prodigy baitcaster says right on it that it is manufactured by daiwa. Daiwa also makes the Tournament ZX and Prodigy spinning reels for Cabelas. OOPS. Sorry, I just read where the title says crankbaits. I apologize to all. Quote
j-bones Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 I know Plano makes all of their storage systems. I was just at their outlet store today in Plano, IL. All the plastic bait storage is plano. Quote
Super User Big Bait Fishing Posted January 31, 2010 Super User Posted January 31, 2010 reaction strike makes Cabelas rods ......... Quote
