Jman59wl3 Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 Prob going to buy this 7'2" Blair wiggins flats blue rod and was wondering if a 3000 fin nor reel would be a good set up? Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted July 29, 2012 Super User Posted July 29, 2012 I have seen that rod dozens of times and everyone raves about it, been tempted to get one myself. I really do not know much about heir reels, but I would try and mount the reel on the rod to get a feel, if that's possible. The reel has good line capacity and it doesn't lack in drag. From the picture, I like the cranking knob on it. I don't what your plans are for the rod, but if it's for inshore fishing I'd opt for the 7'6 model 8/20 with 1/4-1 oz lure range, be a nice double duty outfit. If it's for bass fishing I'd select a smaller sized reel, not really a whole of difference in both the Fin nor 2500 and 3000. Quote
Jman59wl3 Posted July 29, 2012 Author Posted July 29, 2012 Thanks dude I'll prob get the 3000 fin nor and my dad has a 4000 fin nor on a ugly stick intercostal rod 7" and I'll prob try that one on the 7'6 rod! Quote
fishinkeebs Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 They are good rods. The action is a little lighter than it says though IMO. Quote
