SmokeRise1 Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 I been using EWG hooks lately but I'm wondering if hook-up ratio will increase by switching to some other worm hook. Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted July 26, 2012 Super User Posted July 26, 2012 I just slit the belly on all my swimbaits. It eliminates the need for a super wide gap hook. I also use swimbait hooks too, because they can come keel weighted, and they have the screw in for the nose. Quote
BassinMD Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 Owner makes a good hook I try to use a size that goes about half the length of the bait and something with a screw in bait keeper Quote
Super User Hooligan Posted July 27, 2012 Super User Posted July 27, 2012 Used to use the Owner Beast, but have converted to the Moaner hook for 99% of my soft swimbaits. Great hook, awesome price. Quote
gobig Posted July 27, 2012 Posted July 27, 2012 I use the owner beasts also. But I have been using Trokars for some other applications and I got to tell ya those hook are sticky. I am waiting on some swimbait hooks now. Quote
Primus Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 Also, when I started using braid for skinny dippers my hooking percentage went way up. I generally prefer a light keel weighted hook. Quote
