Stouty Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 I was wondering if anybody had any prefrences on frog colors. I'm going too buy some pad crashera this weekend and some new braid and get into frog fishing. So I was thinking about getting an original bullfrog color, and also maybe a black or a white frog? Any ideas about the colors matching the water. Also braid color does this matter. There are multiple colors of braided line. Thanks Quote
buzzfrog Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 lol we gotta make a frog sticky like the senko FAQ. to me, i mostly throw everything, at this very moment, i throe green.yellow and black.. those are staples to me.. now the gill colors are showing me they can be great aswell. I say this all the time, IMO if bass are hitting topwater or your throwing into pads, i think color doesnt matter and just so i can see the frog, i will throgh the spro halloween color(bright orange). i catch em on that. on line again, IMO it doesnt matter i use hi vis yellow Ppro and do well. Disclaimer--- green and black always will work, NOW i have heard and seen some fisherman not getting anything on white, but throw the white with a bit of orange, they tear em up, somthimes fish are fish. Vinny Chase Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 Do a search and you will find hundreds of frog color threads....pearl belly is all I throw in sunny conditions, white in the morning, and black in low light/cloudy conditions. Quote
KC Bass Fanatic Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 I stick with natural colors 95% of the time. Not sure on the braid color - all I use is green and it works great. Quote
BASSHUNTER1961 Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 I throw pretty much any color frog on red Power Pro and have no issue. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted July 26, 2012 Global Moderator Posted July 26, 2012 I fish a black frog 99% of the time and always on moss green braid. If I fished them in open water I might be a little more concerned about color but i thick moss and weeds I'm just looking for a good silouette for the fish to hone in on. Quote
