zachb34 Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 I currently have a falcon bucoo and four veritas rods, and am looking at a new rod in the 160 price range for lipless crankbaits but still having the backbone for plastics my falcon bucoo has these capabilities and im looking at either another bucoo, duckett, or a crucial but am open to other opinions in the same price range. Any suggestions? Quote
GOOCHY Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 I like my Phenix Recon in that price range. It's very sensitive and light. Quote
mikeeasttn Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 Be sure and check out the Shimano Crucials.. Quote

Bass_Fanatic Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 Phenix Recons and Powell Endurance. You simply CANNOT beat these 2 rods in that price range, this coming from a man that owns a Dobyns Savvy, Shimano Crucial and Cumara, and a St. Croix Avid. The Powell and Phenix are a notch above the rest. Quote

The Endurances are supposedly lighter and more balanced- I don't know how that's possible. The Maxes are awesome as they are. Oh, and the one time I had to contact Powell (a ceramic insert popped off from a guide after a year's hard use); I got to talk with Keith. Great customer service. He sent me a couple of tip-tops for free, and didn't ask me to even pay shipping. Quote
zachb34 Posted July 27, 2012 Author Posted July 27, 2012 What do you guys think about duckett rods Quote

They aren't "micro" but they give some of the same advantages, without it being unnaturally strong. All of the guides are either a size or two smaller. And I agree. You simply WILL NOT beat a Powell under $200, with the exception of maybe a Phenix Recon (Havent used one yet) Quote

Super User Hi Salenity Posted August 1, 2012 Super User Posted August 1, 2012 Pinnacle DHC5-701CAMCB http://www.pinnaclef...spx#page=page-1 Are those rods Blue? That bottom middle pic looks like the rod is Blue but it looks black in the other pics. Quote
