bassmaster28 Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 hey guys just wanted to know has anyone ever fished a 11 inch worm on a shaky head rig.I have and it is awsome in the heat of summer around boat docks when you pull up to a strech of docks do not hug them stay off of them about 20 feet or so. Then just cast out around one of the post of the dock and let it sit for about 15 seconds then dont just reel it back it drag it like you would a carolina rig back to the boat but hold on to your rod because whhen they bite that monster worm they kill it. I learned this one very hot day on guntersville the water temp was around 85 or so and everyone was out fishing the grass is the channel and humps and drops well i stayed shallow and that was a good thing because my 5 best was around 26 and i was fishing in 10 feet of water so the next time you think its to hot for shallow water fishing just pull out that shaky head and have fun Quote
ib_of_the_damned Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 I have not fished a worm that large on a shakey head yet, the biggest that I have gone is a 6.5" worm. What type of shakey head do you use for a worm that large? Quote
bassmaster28 Posted January 28, 2010 Author Posted January 28, 2010 well i use a 1\4 ounce picasso jig head and the 11 inch finesse worm that netbait makes my favorite color around here in alabama is alabama craw Quote
Super User Team9nine Posted January 28, 2010 Super User Posted January 28, 2010 Used it with real good success both shallow and deep on several local lakes up this way this past year. Going to play with it even more next year. I used the Maximus worm by Excite Baits with their custom 6/0 Shakey Heads. -T9 Quote
