So now that I have a Citica E on the way, I can return my Curado E7 back to my frogging rig. So I decided to pick up a Flipping Sellus. I have 2 of these rods in Worm and Jig, and they held up great with good feel and sensitivity. Heck, they are the 2 rods, 1 mounted with a Curado E7 and 65# braid, the other a Chronarch E7 and 20# YoZuri, that helped me to win the FF tourney on Lake Toho. So, since being pretty satisfied with those 2, I bought the Flipping stick. If you havent seen one yet in person its pretty neat. Its a 7'6 rod, and near the handle its telescoping. At first looking at a few of them, I couldnt figure out why eyelets were crooked compared to the reel seat. I figured they were defects. But why would they put them on the shelf then? So upon looking more closely at them I saw the break in the rod. Then I played with it, twisting and pushing, and thats when I figured it out. Nowhere on the card that is attached to the rod does it say that this rod is designed this way. My guess is that due to it being 7'6, making it telesope about a foot, helps for storage. I dont know how it will affect the backbone of the rod,but it sure is a cool idea, especially for transporting.

I got one and was worried but a telescopic rod if done right feels like a one piece. I have a Fenwick HMG 7'6" extra heavy telescopic flipping stick, I got it on a suggestion of a friend as my other rods used for flipping were 7' and 7'2" and the 7'6" is different. I can't really say if I like the length or not but I can tell you that after fishing with it you forget about the fact that it is telescopic.

I have a 7'6" Field & Stream Tec Spec telescoping worm and jig rod as well as a 7'11" Quantum Superlite pinching and flipping rod and once they are extended and the guides are lined up with the reel seat they feel just like any other one piece rod. I haven't had the 7'11" out much but the Tec Spec rod feels great and for the price of less than $50 on sale it has great sensitivity as well. I've only caught a couple of small fish but it appears to have enough backbone to handle just about anything I will encounter.

My Okuma EVX Musky rod is exactly like what you describe (telescopic). The rod is 9'3", and goes down to 7'6" for storage. It works fine.

My LTB 7' 3" c-rig rod is telescoping, works just like it should and is one of the shortest rods I have once it's collapsed down.
