Super User Catt Posted January 4, 2010 Super User Posted January 4, 2010 So is this brand really that much better than the rest? Nope but they are pretty good Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted January 4, 2010 Super User Posted January 4, 2010 I have to say it's a pretty darn good one! If you're using one, believe this....no one else is using anything better. Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted January 4, 2010 Super User Posted January 4, 2010 Cavitron is a great buzzbait. They catch fish just fine. I fish a double buzzbait most of the time made by Ol' Nelly, but when I need a single buzz that has to run slow I will always reach for a Cavitron. Quote
EastTexasBassin Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 I love the Cavitrons. They squeak loud as hell and you can run them slow. They get up on plane quick and I like the hooks on them too. I don't know if they're the best out there, but they are the best that I've used. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted January 4, 2010 Super User Posted January 4, 2010 I like them, but not necessarily better in all situations. Honestly, most of the time I have a Booyah Buzz tied on as I like a clacker. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted January 4, 2010 Super User Posted January 4, 2010 Buy one. An excellent bait. Quote
moby bass Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Where are these baits found? Yes, where?, other than the Cavitron website. Quote
lightsout Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Dicks sporting goods stocks them if you have one nearby. Quote
Bobby Uhrig Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 It all comes down to the brand you have confidence in.There are little subtleties in all brands of baits that differentiate them from each other. The best lure on the water is the one called CONFIDENCE-we just use quality components and have changed a few of the designs from existing baits.-It produces fish and results. I have caught bass on 99 cent buzzbaits but for the money-$5.95-the cavitron is the best value out there.Think about it-I have caught many fish on a single bait-won lots of money on the Cavitron. They could last 3 years-thats about 2 bucks a year to use a great bait - I think I would give it an investment-But again use what you have confidence in. Super User CWB Posted January 4, 2010 Super User Posted January 4, 2010 Like Fluke, I mostly use double bladed baits as I can fish them slower, yes even slower than Cavitrons, or fast if needed, but the Cavitron is one of the better single blade buzzers out there. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 4, 2010 Super User Posted January 4, 2010 I'm a big fan. I gave all my other buzzbaits away. 8-) Quote
rondef Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 I'm a big fan. I gave all my other buzzbaits away. 8-) x2 Quote
Jake. Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 I would use only Cavitrons if their wire frames didn't bend so easily. I understand a thinner wire gives off more vibration, but it sacrifices durability. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 4, 2010 Super User Posted January 4, 2010 Jake, I am still on my first Cavitron, 3/8 oz black on black. I have a matcher and some other colors plus a few 1/4 oz. The lure is beat to a pulp. I asked Bobby if I should retire the Cavitron. He advised me just to bend it back into shape. I think it's more interesting to the fish now than new! As long as this particular lure continues to produce, the rest never get to play. 8-) Quote
shimanogloomis man Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 The best buzzbait iv used and iv tried alot. check *** they sell them Quote
-nick- Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 I think it's a lot better than others and since it's about the same price as others, it's a win win. I've only used like 1 or 2 other kinds but they didn't produce NEARLY as well as the cavitron. This is definitely a must have lure and buy extras in a variety of sizes and colors too in case you lose some. I have no durability issues I've caught numerous fish on my favorite black with red blade 3/8 one and if the wire bends I do like RW said and bend it back and it still produces. Perfect buzzbait. moby bass Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Dicks sporting goods stocks them if you have one nearby. I had heard that Dick's had them, but mine does not, for some reason. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted January 5, 2010 Super User Posted January 5, 2010 I like them alright but I prefer others like War Eagles. They are $1 less and I personally think they can be worked more slowly. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted January 5, 2010 Super User Posted January 5, 2010 Worst buzzbait I've ever used. Hard to plane, tended to roll over at any speed. Quote
kikstand454 Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 everytime i threw my cavitron.. i thought i was going to catch a fish. not just wished i would... but thought i would. thats a heck of a difference. unfortunately... in the dawn, a log laying in the grass bares little to no resemblence to the 8 ft gator that i threw my cavitron to. SMASH!!! not really a fair endurance test. ;D you shoulda seen the look on my face. Quote
moby bass Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 I hope they show up at my Dick's store. I'm anxious to try a couple. I just watched the video that shows the Cavitron getting up on plane faster than others. That is something I've found with buzzbaits, is that for the first several yards, or more, I have to reel like crazy to get it up on the top of the water. If I wanted it to run under the water, I'd throw a spinnerbait. Quote
Bobby Uhrig Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Good point Moby- I have done that before and thats what I tried to show in that video. Quote
