Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted July 25, 2012 Super User Posted July 25, 2012 Anyone else I would say, not no way not no how. However, if anyone can do it Tebow can. Regardless of what anyone says, Tebow is a hell of an athlete. I'm so glad the Broncos got rid of him, for the soon to be gone Manning. My Raiders are gonna destroy Manning, and the Broncos. Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted July 25, 2012 Super User Posted July 25, 2012 I would love to see it but man would he ever have a target on his back. Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted July 25, 2012 Super User Posted July 25, 2012 What is you lined tebow up with some receivers on the kick off? Tebow could field the ball, and if things got bad, he could throw it across the field to a wide open receiver. Of course, assuming it's a good throw (75% chance) Quote
Jake P Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Tebow is ridiculous in every way. Without that Denver D last year he wouldnt have had a chance to do what little he did. He will never be a starter again. Change his name to Kyle Orton cause thats what he is. a Decent backup. Quote

Tebow was by far the most exciting player in the NFL last year. His dramatic come-from-behind wins electrified the entire country, Bronco fan or not. I hope Tim does well in New York and that Manning is a bust in Denver. Quote
smr913 Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 I could never cheer for a gator (lower case). GO VOLS! Quote
Nice_Bass Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Wow...this says it all about Tebow. Great athlete, horrible, horrible football player by NFL standards. It really was the D that won those games, but you have to look at the data when he was qb, and not the whole season whenhe was not. 3rd and 4th dwon conversions at 25%, almost as many interceptions as touchdowns allowed, 15pts avg per game. It was the D that allowed HS football to win those games. I really dont know, this for fact, but i do not believe he made over a 50% completion rate... Quote
Super User K_Mac Posted July 25, 2012 Super User Posted July 25, 2012 Tebow is a great athlete and a good man. I respect the first, and admire the second. There are many great athletes in the NFL; the number of good men seems to be somewhat smaller... I wish him well in all he does. 2 Quote
SuskyDude Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 Peyton Manning will make Bronco fans forget all about Tebow. So many people got swept up by the Tebow hype it's hilarious. Quote
Captain Obvious Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 Many people who dislike Tebow as an athlete forget that sports have two sides to them, physical and mental. Is Tebow a very good athlete? Yes Is Tebow a very good QB? Nope Is Tebow a very good leader? Yes Tebows ability to motivate his team and lead them more than makes up for is short comings as a QB. Anybody can learn how to throw a football better but you can't teach leadership. Capt.O Quote

SuskyDude Posted July 27, 2012 Posted July 27, 2012 Until he gets leveled for the first time... Meh. I doubt that. From what I've heard his surgery was a big success, and he looks sharp in camp. Quote

Don't take but one hit. Let Ray Lewis or one of those other jacked up line backers hit him. That will be all she wrote. Quote
SuskyDude Posted July 27, 2012 Posted July 27, 2012 Don't take but one hit. Let Ray Lewis or one of those other jacked up line backers hit him. That will be all she wrote. Lol, okay. That goes for any QB, in any game. Sounds to me like you're nervous. Nervous that Manning is going to be torching the Raiders twice a year now. I would be if I were you. Quote

As of now I'm kind of leary. Plus he sat for a year injured. Hopefully he'll have to shake the rust off. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted July 27, 2012 Super User Posted July 27, 2012 I just don't get it... Peyton is probably the most popular football player that has ever lived in Indiana. I think it is likely that his second career will be as head coach and possibly, Govenor of Indiana if he can stand politics! So, if Manning is going to be this big star in Denver that everyone is talking about, why would the Colts give up on him? Lots of mystery surrounding this entire story. Quote

They thought he very would could be peaking, and looked to invest in their future with a new QB, Andrew Luck. Quote
Super User slonezp Posted July 28, 2012 Author Super User Posted July 28, 2012 I'm more amazed that after losing Manning the couldn't win a game. Time to rethink the entire offense. We(Da Bears) have never had a QB and can win more than 50% of the time. Quote
Jake P Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 Don't take but one hit. Let Ray Lewis or one of those other jacked up line backers hit him. That will be all she wrote. Ray Lewis reported for training camp 30 pounds lighter than last year. Said he wants to change himself as the game changes. I dont see alot changing with him losing 30 lbs. Maybe a tad bit quicker, but at 37, how much quicker? As long as he keeps his intensity he will still be a beast though. Quote

You can look up Tim Tebows stats vs the Denver D in all of the "electrifying come from behind wins" from last year. They go hand in hand and i hate it when it gets overlooked because everyone wants to be on the Tebow bandwagon just because. They may be ranked in the tops among worst defenses in 2011, but for all of those games they won where Tebow looked like the hero, The D was rigth there getting him the ball back and returning picks for TD's.http://predominantlyorange.com/2011/12/12/denver-broncos-defense-critical-to-six-game-win-streak/ Quote
VolFan Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 Regarding Peyton - he is as good as he's ever been, but Indy (and Peyton) knew they didn't have the talent around him. They're rebuilding the whole team now, and a big contract for him just would've bogged that down. Quote

So, if Manning is going to be this big star in Denver that everyone is talking about, why would the Colts give up on him? Lots of mystery surrounding this entire story. Colts gave up on him for Andrew luck. Peyton is older, Luck is a rookie with Peyton Manning potential. Keep Peyton and let him possibly perform at his level for 2-3 more years and then be out a QB, OR let Peyton go, draft Luck and Have another great QB for 10 more years. They are looking at long term instead of "right now". Manning being hurt made the decision much easier since before the draft word came out that the pinched nerve in his neck was still bothering him. I think Peyton will do great in Denver. Not 100% like he was in Indy, but he will still be among the best. Quote
guitarkid Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 I've said it for a while, the first team to get him and put him in another position has a real diamond in the rough. -gk Quote
