Soft Plastic Color In Clear Vs Cloudy Water

Hey guys I'm just looking for opinions on favorite soft plastic colors in clear water vs murky/ cloudy water. I'm just looking for any general insight towards color choice in different water conditions! Any help's appreciated!

Clear water : Match the hatch

Stained water: Match the hatch, with some bright colors in there

In clear water go with natural colors, green and brown. In stained water go with dark or bright colors, Black, blue, purple, chartruese.

The clearer the water the more natural and brighter the color, the darker the water the darker the baits, as far as plastics go for me.

Honestly, every day is different. I will tell you this, in decently clear water down here in FL, a good watermelon color works good. You can add a red flake, or some kind of zest to it, but watermelon seems to be the ticket. When the water is stained/murkey, a junebug or blue type color works pretty good. Though my friend and I did win the FF tourney on Lake Toho the beginning of this month swimming Gambler EZ in Green Copperfield color, and the water was pretty dirty. So, that being said, you have to experiment a little with your colors.

I like something subtle and very natural for clear water like a Bubblegum or watermelon. Staind and murky waters i use GP, browns blacks and blues etc. Darker colors. I also think some people exclude colors like chartreuse or a pearl white in dark waters which has produced very well for me. A pearl hologram and blue flek senko is the BOMB in the staind water i fish in.

While I don' think it matters much to the fish, because I have caught them on black in gin clear water, and on green pumpkin in very stained water, this is how I do it, for no other reason than confidence. Clear to lightly stained water = green pumpkin on clear days, watermelon red on cloudy/low light days. Dark or stained water, I use junebug on clear days, black/blue in low light. I don't vary much from those colors, except for things like flukes, or bed fishing where I will toss a white or bubble gum colored baits. Most of the time color matters not, but I have found that subtle tweaks, like this or that color of metal flake will get you an extra bite or two on a tough day, but thats so lake/fish mood specific.

In clearer water, I fish natural colors like watermelon or pumpkin. In murky water, I fish the exact same colors, but with a chartreuse tail on them. The bright tail seems to get them striking in stained or murky water.
