Carrington Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 I was wonder what is a good quality spinnerbait that wont break my bank because i looking to buy around 15 different spinnerbaits soon but done know any good brands. Quote
Super User Shane J Posted January 25, 2010 Super User Posted January 25, 2010 I have mine made custom by a local company. All I have to do, is tell him what style, size, color, etc. Great guy, too. I met him at an outdoor expo, and now I'll never go back to commercially made spinners or buzzbaits. http://www.rockyledge.com/rocky-ledge-bass-tackle-home.html Quote

Super User Tin Posted January 25, 2010 Super User Posted January 25, 2010 If you go War Eagle you will never fish another brand. You don't need 15 either because they are durable and can always be tweeked to run true again. I always put a small clear zip-tie around the skirt collar to avoid any issues with toothy critters. It really extends the life of the bait as well. Quote
Nkybassfisherman Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 people may not agree with me but you should definitely try bass pro shops lazer eye spinnerbaits sometimes you can find them on sale for around 2 something they are regular like 3 something but these are great spinnerbaits,,,,they dont have a terrific color selction but the arms on them fo not get bent like other brands.. i have a white one thats still in perfect condition besides a little paint being gone from the head that has caught me well over 20 fish including one over 4. try them!! Aluma-Bass Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 daves tournament tackle - great quality hand made spinner baits! Quote
Super User burleytog Posted January 26, 2010 Super User Posted January 26, 2010 Look at two items. The swivel and the hook. Far too many spinnerbaits feature a cheap swivel that will stop turning after 2-3 uses. The $6+ Strike Kings aren't bad, but their cheaper models suck. Booyah is about the same. Quote
A-Rob Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Often I grab Booyah spinnerbaits from basspro when they go on sale for 2.99 (in canada so more expensive then it'd be for y'all) or 3.99. I have yet to wear out one of the booyah spinnerbaits, however I usually loose them at the bottom of the lake haha. Quote
Willzx225 Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 You are going to get the most responses for War Eagle and a good deal of responses for Nichols. I personally, use the Nichols and have been for 10+ years. I have been thinking about using some War Eagle but never have b/c I always had Nichols available at my local store. Both look similar but it seems as if the War Eagle has a thinner wire. Both will catch the ***** out of fish! Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted January 26, 2010 Super User Posted January 26, 2010 Check out Fleck. Been around for 30 years. Always reliable and inexpensive. Northern Bass Supply carries a good selection. Quote
Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted January 26, 2010 Super User Posted January 26, 2010 I have come to like revenge spinnerbaits. Quote
sockey Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Believe it or not, I ran into a spinnerbait that a friend bought at Wal-Mart for something like $1.50. I only fished it for an hour, but we caught some good fish-and I was impressed with the thicker wire that it was made out of. Quote
whoopbazz Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 I like stike king premier and the stike king KVD. Also I like bps lazer eye pro(or premier or whatever it's called) model. Quote
Stasher1 Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 I'm a bit of a spinnerbait junkie and have several from Revenge, Rattle Head, War Eagle, BPS, Strike King (several different models), Boo-Yah, Stanley, ***, Mann's, Hawg Caller, and more. The most productive one for me on local ponds/lakes has been Stanley. I don't know what it is about them, but they produce. I wish I could tell you how well they hold up, but I lose them long before I wear them out. :-[ Quote
