I was recently in the French River area of Ontario fishing for Bass. We had a great trip and enjoyed the fishing very much. During our trip I met a gentleman who was staying at the same camp and on the last day he was there he left a Soft Plastic Bass Bait on the side of my boat. He talked how it was the best top water slop bait available.

It was a soft plastic bait in the shape of a Rat of Mouse that needed to be rigged with your own hookpprobably a 5/0 Hook. It was similar to the type of bait af say a Horny Toad only in the shape of the rat.

I have searched throughout the internet to try and find out what or whaer this bait could be had, but after two weeks no luck. I thought I would ask the bass fishinf community as I am sure someone out there knows what the name or manufacture of this bait is.

Your help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Dave

The gentleman told me the manufacturer but I cannot remember.

Must be a local company. You might try a Google search for bait companies based out of that area.

It is a snag proof lure only a rat or mouse.

It looks like a top water mouse made by ZETABAIT, out of Foley, Alabama. No longer in business .

They also made the Ding a Ling worm and the Flapping' Dad crayfish. Great Baits!! Sometimes you can find them on EBay.

Hope this helps...

I have tried calling the number above with no success, I have looked them up and tried another couple of numbers but no success. I am wondering if they are still in business and if so how to get a hold of them. Anyone know??

Thanks

Dave

Fry,the phone number I gave you came from a pack of gillraker worms that I bought a year or so ago.I have since thrown away the shipping box they came in.Here are some other phone numbers to try.205-943-1902,251-943-1902,904-731-9012 .If these all fail, look up Donnie Paul in Foley ,Alabama white pages he is the guy whom bought the company.I hope this helps you out.
