heard rumors of big bass in there from the old employees at zylas years ago which got me intrested in the place however like unhbass37 said i have never caught anything of size at all in there after fishing it over the years and have given up on it.its more of a waste of time to me. i did see some good size carp that must have got stuck in there back when the merrimack flooded into horseshoe pond years ago.

Went there today to check it out for myself, since my friend lives 2 minutes from there. Got 4 fish around 2lbs, he got 3 about the same, and I got a 6lb, 4oz. I did see some friggin monster carp cruising the shallows. I might check it out with the bass boat to get on 'em better. Basically junk fishing out of the jon boat with no electronics.

Shane try Nutts pond in Manchester to in your jon boat. See if you can find any big girls in there. I personally have only caught a 3lber there. Really small pond, but very deep.

There are some nice deep ladies at Nutts pond this time of year. They have been bigger in Horseshoe but are tough to find if you dont have the time to learn it. Nutts pond is much easier to fish and learn.

What's the biggest you caught out of Nutts? Be honest now.

There are several 7+ ladies in Nutts pond. Hubby believes there a some bigger grandmas in there. Carolina rigged 7 inch black/blue sparkling lizard. We fish it 3 or 4 times a year. Not big numbers but some good sized fish. It is small place and easy to find the drops with decent finder. The thick stuff under water all around the edge and i mean thick is a pain but you will find some girls chillin under there. We like this place early in the year, especially when we have very limited time to play. It gets a lot of bright sun and the water is pretty clear so try to keep the shadows to a minimum. Us old ladies are smart. We get wise to the tricks.

Yeah, I was thinking drop shot, but C-rig would probably work out better if there's a lot of weeds. Not many places don't have at least a few hawgs in them, just a matter of taking the time to figure out what works, and be willing to leave fish to find the bigger fish. Many people don't get that.

The hubby says well put Mr J. It is a matter of preference and human nature. The best and biggest are the hardest to find and usually create the biggest smiles. However for many people catching 10 - 3 lbers is more fun than hoping for the big reward that may never come.

Hmmm.... Thats good to know condidering I work down the street from there. I have always caught fish there, but nothing bigger then 3 pounds. I'll find them. Thanks for the help.
