QUIENYO Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 I had the pleasure of going out to a nearby lake with my buddy who recently bought a bass boat. A couple of hours into the trip, thought I had snagged some lumber along the bottom and was bemoaning the fact to my buddy, when the "lumber" decided to make a run for it near the surface. We had been trolling along a bank of reeds and I was throwing a 1/2 oz. jig on 50# braid. No time for the net, so I opted to hoist the fish into the boat. What a great feeling! I knew as soon as I saw it that it would be my new PB. It ended up weighing 5lb 3oz. Catching a five pounder was my goal this year, so I'm pretty happy. I'll post a photo when I get off work. Quote
hookset on 3 Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Good Job! I was in Tucson to visit my girlfriend in March and got a few chances to go fishing. It's beautiful country out there and the bass fishing's pretty darn good too. I hit them good down on Arivaca Lake, but no 5lbers,that's for sure. Let's take a look at that lunker, when you get a chance. Quote

zildjian Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 Hell Yeah dude! That's my goal from the start of this season was to hook into a 5lber plus.. i actually caught my PB early this season at 4lb 10oz which i hope that digital scale was right.. since then i bought a certified Boga Grip Scale for 30lb. but i caught my PB on a weightless T-riged Zoom Magnum Trick Worm in Green Pumpkin with 3/0 or 4/0 Gamakatsu EWG Hook on a very Cloudy overcast day just as the sun was about to start setting. and BOOM. Her Mouth was the biggest i've ever seen.. looking like it was screaming wide open trying to throw the hook underwater while reeling her in. -zildjian Quote
