MR_KIM Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Trying to update the software in my LCX-27C but can’t get the unit to recognize the three update files on the SD card I downloaded them to. I can see the files when the card is inserted in my PC. The three update files are: Phantom_2.ldr 62KB Tiger_v250t.bin 2,766KB Update.lop 1KB Lowrance says the update files will automatically load after inserting the card and then powering the unit up. Not happening. When I tab to the “browse files” menu selection, the prompt says no “MMC CARDS READY.” However, the unit does recognize, reads and loads files from my Hot Spots MMC card. Are there special or particular menu commands that I must enter to enable the LCX-27C unit to recognize, read and load files on an SD card? Thanks Quote
Todd Driscoll Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 Those are the correct update files. How big is your MMC card? The 27 will only read cards 2 GB or less. If your current card is smaller than this, either reformat the card and try again or try another card. Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted July 19, 2012 Super User Posted July 19, 2012 Todd's right, on that particular Model. I have one of similar vintage. If you use an SD card with a capacity exceeding 2gb, the unit will execute a "crap and go blind" command. Reload the update software on a card with less than 2gb capacity and you should be fine. Been there, done that. Quote
Michael Hall Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Thank you for letting me ask a question here. I have a Lowrance LCX37C which is old now but I am appalled that the unit was replaced as soon as I turned it on brand new due to the unit not sending 12 volts to the GPS antenna. It could now have the same fault but this map section has been turned on twice since I bought it as said brand new. I have not put a meter on the NMEA 2000.......2 pos and 3 neg terminals that connect the LGC 3000 receiver yet because of no data which was 153 miles away at home and not in the caravan at the side of my boat! I see many others have had problems with these GPS units and feel we who bought them were very much guinea pigs at the time. I wonder if I find there is no 12 v supply to the antenna could this be overcome by a separate 12 volt supply to the NMEA 2000 instead of the antenna getting its faulty supply from the LCX 37 unit. The sonar has functioned as it should but I have always thought the screen shot has much to be desired in terms of fish clarity at £1600. Or as we brits say an 'arm and a leg'! Obsolete a year after purchase to boot! Quote
