Super User rockchalk06 Posted July 16, 2012 Super User Posted July 16, 2012 I neve understood why this happens. I've picked a fight with a bigger guy before but d**n!! Quote
Geoff Sandvik Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Gee, I never tried a trailer on a Rapala like that before! Quote
tipptruck1 Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 That reminds me of a lake me and a buddy fish. We would throw lip less baits all day. For some reason once and a while we could catch fish as big as the bait. I once also caught a small mouth smaller then the stick worm I was using. I felt the tap and went to set the hook. the dang fish comes flying back at me. 1 Quote
tholmes Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Hahahaha! I've been hooking quite a few bass like that lately too. Must have been a pretty good spawn this spring! Tom Quote
mikey5string Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 I always get perch on crankbaits. A lot of the time they are foul hooked. I think they come up to investigate and get a little too close. I have caught 6" bass on a 10" worm. Doesnt seem to work the other way around for me. I cant seem to get anything over a pound on a 4" drop shot worm. Quote
ipeeinmywetsuit Posted July 16, 2012 Author Posted July 16, 2012 haha this little guy was hooked right through the eyes. its illegal to use live bait at this lake so that opportunity was out of the question. thank goodness for the extra wide gap hook on the back or i woulda lost him. Quote
