Super User 00 mod Posted July 15, 2012 Super User Posted July 15, 2012 Stradic ci4 2500 without a doubt the best bang for you buck in the spinning reel catagory. I LOVE mine! Jeff Quote
BassThumb Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 I haven't owned the other two, but I couldn't be happier with the CI4 2500. Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted July 15, 2012 Super User Posted July 15, 2012 I use to use the ci4. Just wasnt as smooth as i liked it to be. Took it back amd got the patriarch. Smoothest 200$ spinning reel. Great drag. Just as light as the ci4. Only issue is the spool could be larger. I went from the ci4 1000 to the 9530. Love the reel. However if i was going to be spending around 350 for one, it would be the shimano sustain. Quote
WdyCrankbait Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 I haven't used the Stradic, heard everyone that has one loves it. I have the Pfluger Supreme XT, I know it's not a reel of choice here, but the Pfluger drag is VERY smooth. But, for this price range I doubt you will go wrong of these three reels. Enjoy the new reel! Quote
Kabar Posted July 15, 2012 Author Posted July 15, 2012 yes....probably all three are v.good...maybe will choose by design/look of it Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted July 15, 2012 Super User Posted July 15, 2012 My answer would be none of them, I don't think it's necessary to spend $200 on a small freshwater reel. If the main usage of the reel was saltwater and limited freshwater use I'd pick the Pflueger. Performance wise probably would not be a noticeable difference, but I think Pure Fishing provides the best customer service, at least they are my preference. Quote
Super User LgMouthGambler Posted July 15, 2012 Super User Posted July 15, 2012 $200 for a spinning reel? You cray cray. 2 Quote
jerzeeD Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 Pflueger Patriarch. Lightest reel of the bunch, and Pfluegers sure click bail is the best in the business. You wont be disappointed! Quote
Jim_M Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 $200 for a spinning reel? You cray cray. ...that! Just get three of these... http://www.basspro.com/Pflueger-President-6900-Series-Spinning-Reels/product/10213341/198932 Quote
jerzeeD Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Excellent choice! The Magnesium body is awesome. Light as a feather and stronger th an stone! Quote
Mike__D Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Great choice. I have the CI4 in 2500 size as well as the 9530, and 9535 of the patriarch, and the patriarchs are better IMHO. The fact that the body is made out of a real metal (magnesium) as opposed to the CI4 which is whatever shimano decided to put together to make this new material... Mike D Quote
kingkoopah020 Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 What size pflueger patriarch should I put on my 7' medium cabelas magtouch? Quote
Capt.Bob Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 The New Stradics are the best reels on the market, I sold my Ci4 and older Stradics, they are old technology!! This year and went with the new FJ model, because they are smoother have more power and stronger than the Ci4, they have more upgrades and you can feel it the first time you use them, If you don't want the best available spinning reel made for less than $250.00 don't buy it, if you want the best this is your real, for $136.00 you can't believe how good a spinning reel can be! I wouldn't trade mine for anything you listed! and Ive used them. go here and thank me when you get it!! http://www.ebay.com/...=item3f1a431326 Quote
fishking247 Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 i agree with Capt.Bob stradic is the best reel on the market right now Quote
