The Brim Reaper Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 I went fishing in Calcasieu Parish today and caught several of these fish. What species is it? Quote

The Brim Reaper Posted July 14, 2012 Author Posted July 14, 2012 BAIT!! lol no clue but looks like bait for something bigger with teeth Lol. That was my initial thought. I caught them on dilly worms. Whatever the heck they are, they have small, human-like teeth. I'm just getting into inshore saltwater fishing, so this is very weird to me lol. Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted July 14, 2012 Super User Posted July 14, 2012 yup same here we catch fish like that here in Kuwait same thing they got people teeth I always say ours are colored different though there brownish with one spot by there tail. We usually catch em on pieces of shrimp then transfer them to a bigger hook and catch needle fish and sharks on them. Quote

I'm not gonna catch much with worms, am I? I'm after redfish, specks, and black drum. Shrimp's good for those, right? I have so much to learn lol. Quote

Super User Bassn Blvd Posted July 28, 2012 Super User Posted July 28, 2012 Live Pin fish are one of the TOP baits for Snook and Redfish. Quote
Zoff Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 Guess those are universal. Been catching those all over the sound and surf at Emerald Isle NC this week. Oh well... heading home in 5 minutes now. Quote
Mad Fisherman Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 I went to Florida twice in my life, tried to fish as much as I can, which was almost 24/7. I would use shrimp with no wait off the dock and catch all type of fish, including 3-4 different types of snapper, the fish mentioned above, Redfish, Zebrafish, small Needlefish, and a Puffer fish which puffed up and floated on the surface when I let it go. I alway's wanted to know what those were, and know I know they are Pin Fish. I guess you learn something new every day! Quote
