Super User Bassn Blvd Posted July 14, 2012 Super User Posted July 14, 2012 My private property, 100 acre rock pit, honey hole of 6 years has been sold. From what I understand, the new owners will NOT allow my uncle to continue living on the property or allow us to fish due to insurance reasons. I introduced my uncle to the owners 2-3 years ago and they allowed him to move onto the property and occupy what was once the office when they were excavating many years ago. The office has been transformed into a 1 bedroom, 1 bath house with full kitchen. It's the perfect fish lodge. The property is zoned agriculture and building on it is not permitted, unless it's re-zoned. So far I have personally caught or seen caught and weighed a 9.13, 10.4 and one just over 11. I know there are bigger ones in there. Live bream or live bass is the ticket to catching the DD fish, although the 9.13 and 10.4 came on artificial. It's just faster using live bait. I plan on fishing the lake HARD from now until the new owners take occupancy, which is still up in the air. If anyone wants to fish this little treasure of a lake (pond) then get with me and we will go. My boat ALWAYS has a seat open or you can fish from shore. You can keep any all fish if you want too. I'm available from Saturdays 12am to 7am. Saturday 9pm to Sunday 6am. Sunday 9pm thru Tuesday 6am. , Wed, Thurs, Fri from 12am to 6am. I can do day fishing during the week with a days notice to take off work. Quote

Super User Bassn Blvd Posted July 15, 2012 Author Super User Posted July 15, 2012 I wanna go! But you are a little too far from me! Jeff It's not that it's far. It's the LONG ars BORING drive to Palm Beach once you enter into Florida. To be honest, the drive out of S. Florida is one of the things keeping me from going on the road trips. And flying is out of the question, haha. Quote

Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted July 15, 2012 Super User Posted July 15, 2012 Doug, we've been trying to hit that pit with each for at least a year or two now....And you up and let somebody buy it. I'm ashamed of you, sir! Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted July 15, 2012 Author Super User Posted July 15, 2012 Man I want to fish there and get me a monster how far is that from Jacksonville I'm from Jacksonville and can tell ya it's about 4 - 4.5 hours. Although I did do it in a little over 3 one time, but I wouldn't suggest you try it. You've got one of the best bass fishing spots right there on the St. Johns river. Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted July 15, 2012 Author Super User Posted July 15, 2012 I would love to go! Maybe an afternoon trip this week? I'm available tomorrow evening and any time Monday. Super User Bassn Blvd Posted July 15, 2012 Author Super User Posted July 15, 2012 Doug, Does tomorrow late afternoon (Monday) work for you, weather pending? I would love to fish those rock pits with you. Yes, tomorrowwill be fine. I was going to scout the osborne chain, particulary PB canal and Boynton canal, for my upcoming tournament, but I'd rather fish the pit. Let me know what time works for you and I'll have the boat ready. I'm free all day and all night. Quote

Have a pretty busy schedule here the next couple of weeks since I will be headed to the Keys, but I am in, maybe we can relocate some of those fatties to another secret hide away? Have fun in the keys. Is it lobster season already? Relocating is exactly what I wanted to do. I'm going to put a few in some key spots in Osborne and see if they remain in the area. Give me a shout when you're ready. If you guys want, we can take my boat and one of yalls boats out. You, Piscidal, Eric and I can all fish the same time. The property in fenced so you don't have to worry aboyt theft from the cars. And like I said, my uncle lives on the property so we can use the crapper if need be, haha. Quote

Qnormous Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Hi I'm new here and wanted to ask a question if I could. I live in loxahatchee and have lived in West Palm my whole life I used to fish lakes and canals all over the place and caught Tons bass and blue gill. Well I had a few babies and have not really done much fishing in the last 6 or 7 years. My son just turned 5 and today I took him to go fishing I road around to some of the spots that I knew when I was fishing a lot but every place we went seemed like there was nothing but Carp and turtles with some crappy looking water. Most of the places I went were out in the Acreage or off Southern Blvd out around Lion country. Any way it sound like a few of you are from West Palm and I was wondering if you may know a few descent canals or lakes out west that i can take my son and fish off the bank. Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted July 17, 2012 Author Super User Posted July 17, 2012 Hello and welcome to BR. I would suggest Okeeheelee park off Forest Hill just east of the turnpike. The park has lots of water so over crowding is not an issue. I can only think of neighborhood ponds in your immediate area, which are usually for residents only. Not too many kid friendly, shore fishing areas around these days. Don't forget to stop in at the New Members section and say hello. Quote
Qnormous Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Hey thanks for the reply. Yha not to meny places to take the kids these days but ill keep looking for some good spots. Ill hop on new members and say hi and thank again. Quote
