Packard Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 I am going to be taking a vacation to Branson, MO in a couple weeks and stopped to ask for a guide recommendation here before I started to search by myself. It is just going to be me and my dad fishing. I just need someone who can put us on big bass and has a nice boat and good equipment. Thanks in advance. Quote
rangerjockey Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Either Pete wenners (hookedonbass.com) or Eric Olliverson (ericseliteguideservice.com) . Both are great sticks on table rock and fun guys to spend a day in the boat with. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted July 12, 2012 Super User Posted July 12, 2012 If you are willing to drive over to Bull Shoals or trout fish on the White River, "Hotdawg" is THE MAN! http://www.hotdawgguideservice.com/ Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted July 12, 2012 Super User Posted July 12, 2012 If I were looking for a guide, I'd be contacting Buster Loving. Quote
Shad_Master Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 It has been a dozen years or so since I last used Pete Wenners - he was great everytime we went out with him. He was especially helpful to my (then) 6 year old son and my (then 70) year old father-in-law. He introduced me to drop-shotting before anyone in this area had even heard of it. Quote
Quillback Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Good recommendations above, I'd also suggest Bill Babler at White river outfitters (he also has a lodge you can stay at). He has quality equipment and runs a 21" Phoenix. If yo're interested in trout fishing he fishes Taneycomo also. Sounds like you'll be there in August when the drop shot rules on Table Rock. Bill can flat out fish drop shots. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com/ Quote
Quillback Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 BTW Hanapa'a, it's tough to get BIG bass on TR in August. No matter what guide you choose. I just don't want you to set your expectations too high. But, on a good day, you can expect to get quite a few 12-17" bass, mainly Kentuckies. Quote
Super User Hooligan Posted July 13, 2012 Super User Posted July 13, 2012 Pete's a super guy, as is Snowden, though hard to get in with. Quote
cbass12 Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 As someone said before, Pete Wenners is a good one. My family and I were at table rock two weeks ago for a week vacation, and my dad and I went out with Pete on a Sunday morning. We didn't catch all that many, but we caught enough. He gave us a lot of good tips as well, helped us catch a lot of fish the rest of our vacation. Quote
plumworm Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 With out a doubt, Pete Wenners. By far the best guide I've ever fished with. Two years in a row, we fished with him on the first day of our week long trip and he gave us his cell# and told us if we saw him on the lake to come over and he'd give us current info. Great guy, guide and gentleman. You can't go wrong with Pete. Quote
