This year turned out to be fantastic for my wife, first a 5lb smallie up erie, 4lb pickerel at a local lake.. Now this lunker out the river. Couldnt have done it more lady like using her avid pearl! Forgot my scale so I don't know the actual weight but sure beats my best :D

The length tells me 6-6.5, but that belly says 7-7.5. Either way it's a beaut. Good job!

My wife is very supportive of my fishing, but sometimes I wish she would try it out. Heck, she has yet to actually watch me haul one in. The other day she walked over to where I was at to talk for a minute and then went back into the house. No sooner had she gotten in, I pulled a small one up. Go figures.

Wow! Beautiful fish. I never fished in the canal, but as you know have at the opening of it. Never had a bite in that area much less catch a monster like that.

A tape measure would help the experts in guessing pretty close to its weight. Would need length and girth. Yup, thought about going there last weekend, but decided it was too hot for me to leave the air conditioning. :)

EDIT: Oops. Forgot to congratulate you both. Any idea how big the one was that broke off on you? Sure wish my wife was interested in fishing. Her only hobby is shopping. :(

Thanks everyone, it was an incredible day to say the least. From the weather and reports from other anglers I didn't expect anything like this, the odd spawn periods ( three times so far) the massive amount of dinks because it, and what's worse is how shallow the river is from the lack of rain. From the areas reputation there hasn't been any largemouth bigger than 3lbs around here for a while. So I'm expecting this to be a freak incident that doesn't happen often.

Dale, I ended up loosing the other twin which was slightly smaller when I was pulling it up from the wall, was my new PB aswell but it didn't bother me since my goal was for my wife to hook a biggun. We hit 3 largemouth with her one being the biggest, out of the two I hooked the smaller one (which I landed) was a good 4lber

A-Jay, I have enough pictures but I don't have the measurements, I could atleast do comparable measuring from my wifes fingers though. As I really didn't expect these three big girls the last time thing on my mind was putting the tools in my bag

Thank you everyone. Especially you Hubby for spotting her and handing over the Costas so I could sight her. At first I though...meehhh carp...haha

It was a bit comical with us standing there yelling "BLACK SENKO.......".. ripping off the Zoom Trick worms and getting the Senkos on. Hearts all thumping and trying not to spaz out.

I tossed it back to a fallen tree toward the back of the area because the Zooms wiggling in their faces freaked them out. The only reason I got her and Tom didn't was timing on throw-in and where I saw them run to.

I have the best teacher. :-)

Thank you Husband..

Nitro...hahaha..I swear the nail polish was random... it matches a pair of my girlie~girl high heels...

When I wear the silver polish I have never brought in a huge Striper...lol

But if you think it may help your hit rate, go for it. :photography-044:

Na, thanx for the offer to help my hit rate, but I think something like that may attract the wrong kind of attention.
