I've got the Tournament SL Speed Stick in Medium power and its a great rod. The model I got is composite glass and graphite so I only use it for crankin. The micro guides are a tad bigger than the Ducketts but they are still extremely small. It is a little tip heavy (maybe due to the glass) but it balances out well with a Revo STX. I can bomb a Strike King Series 5 crankbait a mile with it. Overall it's a great rod, only thing I don't like is there's no hook keeper.

I have yet to catch a fish on mine but for the price it seems like a decent rod... i am anxious to check out lews reels and other rods. they seem like a really good product for the price

I have the Laser speed stick in a 7ft m cranbait.. With a gen 2 stx on it.

It is my crankbait rod and it works pretty good. Nice and light, Sensitive and casts a 5xd a mile! Solid piece for 100 bucks

I have the same one with a gen 3 S on it and I feel like it's not balanced well at all. Even with the long butt it's very tip heavy. I haven't actually fished it yet though. Do you feel that as well or is it me?

Maybe a litte bit...but my gen 2 is heavier than your gen3. I sold a mojo crankbait for the lews and I'm glad I did. The lews is a good bt better imo.

Sensitivity is better and the rod handles much better...if only the lews had a cork grip though

I put my reel on a glass 7'4" mojo crankster and that balanced out worse than my lews did. After putting it back on the lews it didn't feel bad at all. My gripes with the lews are the balance, which isn't as bad as I thought, I wish it was glass opposed to graphite, and there's no hook keeper on it anywhere. So what do you do with your lure? Any experience with the Veritas "winch series" rod?

I have found that I usually put my lure or terminal tackle hooks either in the handle assembly of the reel or right in front of the spool where the bar is that runs across the top of the line guide.
