Super User K_Mac Posted July 7, 2012 Super User Posted July 7, 2012 Welcome to the bass fishing community! It will not be long before you find there are other items that must be added to complete your gear. This will be an ongoing process that will last as long as you fish. The collecting of stuff is a big part of the fun in my opinion. Good luck. Quote
bubbler Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 Welcome bro...Your guna love it here. You got some great gear....Hey, gu pick up a few swimbaits Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted July 8, 2012 Super User Posted July 8, 2012 I remember when my Plano boxes were organized nice and neat like that... Darn you bait monkey!!!! 1 Quote
jimmykm21 Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 Funny thing about your bassing kit will be you will end up only using about 1/16 of what you bought. Reason I say it is you wil end up with your favorite baits . Also buy a few spinner baits . Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted July 8, 2012 Global Moderator Posted July 8, 2012 Looks Good Rudy! You're off to a great start. Mike Quote

Senkoman12 Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 whats the bait monkey? excuse my noobness Edit: obviously a phenomenon related to the fever of buying lures, am I right? its a monkey that lives on your back that makes you buy every piece of tackle and lure in sight 1 Quote
Super User deep Posted July 9, 2012 Super User Posted July 9, 2012 You guys should be grateful that you have the bait monkey on your back, and not a swimbait monkey LOL. Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted July 9, 2012 Super User Posted July 9, 2012 You guys should be grateful that you have the bait monkey on your back, and not a swimbait monkey LOL. Shoulda seen my latest TW order. Seven or eight shiny new Hudds to screw with. Would have been more if I jumped on the 68 specials when they got released again. Quote
Rudie Errenrich Posted July 9, 2012 Author Posted July 9, 2012 Not sure about the monkey. I am a tackle tart, for sure. Quote
DON1937 Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 I'm just getting into Bass fishing and the "bait monkey" is weighing me down every time I get near lures of any kind Most of my fishing experience has been in salt water......bays and surf. In the bays I carried all my bait in my shirt pocket. A couple of Sprite Spoons and two or three short plastic worm jigs. Made sure to carry a dime and a bail spring for my Mitchell 300. In the surf a couple of spoons and a 3' Mirro Lure! I lived in a little town called Port 'O Connor and every permanent resident there used the famous red bait casting reel and a "Popping" rod, live shrimp and a "popping" cork. With these rigs they could give a 5lb Red water skiing lessons Quote
prjavelin Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 whats up with swimbaits? why do it has to be that expensive? thank God im a Spinnerbait/plastic junky and not into swimbaits or my wife would have left me already lol. ohhh and my tackle box is full at least for plastics. With two terminators on the way i shouldnt be able to fit many more spinnerbaits either. I see the TS having 2 or 3 cranks per space really soon. Quote
Super User K_Mac Posted July 10, 2012 Super User Posted July 10, 2012 Not sure about the monkey. I am a tackle tart, for sure. That is funny. There are many Americans who are the same, we just would not use that description! However you say it, bass fishermen are all vulnerable to the "I could use/need that" mentality. Enjoy. Quote
