What are yall's experiences with these reel? They are all close to the same price and have heard good and bad things on these reels. I already have a Med/Heavy Veritas that I traded in a deer target for so now all i need is a reel...

I will appreciate any info or any expreiences yall've had with any of these reels!

Thanks!

Drop the "X" off the end of that Revo and you have my pick.

I have the Curado and the Revo sx. Like the Curado much better. In my opinion the sx's magnetic cast control system is crap. I just can't get it dialed in and have to baby it when I cast, and I hate fishing that way. Get the curado, clean the bearings and hit them with a little Hot sauce or Reel butter and you will have a good work horse reel. On a side note if you can go $200 and BPS still still has some Revo premiers left thats your best bet. Twice the reel for the money

Your choices are not the best bang for the buck, for the money I would suggest another direction, "in my opinion". The Revo is not going to be as easy to cast with only magnetic breaking, as the curado, but the new curados are not getting the support from Shimano owners the older curados got, I for one was not happy and sold the one I bought. Then the the citica is a step down from the curado and I have heard complaints of smoothness on the retrieve with bigger fish. for the same or less money I would check this out. http://www.ebay.com/...=item27c8ca1a3d, I did and am very happy and save some money. Run a search here and I think you will find all owners of these reels are more than happy with there purchase, more bang for the buck!!

I have a gen 2 Revo SX and the previous model Citica what ever series it is I don't get into all that hoopla like the shimano posse. Both are great reels in my opinion my Revo I have set as loose as a reel can be and bomb hail marry casts with it no problem times i use the magnetic breaks like windy days i never have an issue and I sure as hell don't baby it on casts and ride my thumb on the spool. My Citica same thing no brakes set very loose spool tension and same thing don't baby the spool or nothing both have caught me some big fish including a double smallmouth on a double fluke rig and the Citica. Personally though im an Abu fan but I have the Citica cuz I got a killer deal on it but I don't see what makes them so much greater or worse then a Revo im more accurate and can pitch farther and more accurate with the Revo then I can with the Citica and I like the feel of the Revo more personally also.

I may be mistaken, but I believe that the anti reverse bearing is pressed into the side cover on the ABU SX, which means that if you need a new AR bearing you have to buy the cover to get it.

I don't know about the G, I have heard mixed reviews. However, the E series I can strongly recommend.

I have both the 50 and 100 which I have had supertuned by our sponsor, DVT. This did not turn them

into Core, but pretty darn close!

See if you can check out a Citica E... I picked one up @ dicks a while back for $45. I have reels that cost over $300... Yea the Citica E is my favorite reel. (Im not even a member of the posse either!)

I'm personally not a fan of the G series frames. If you can find a used E series Citica or Curado, you're in business. The Revo is a darn good reel as well.

Alright ive narrowed it down to the Curado G and the Citica 200e. The citica 200e scored much better than the curado g on tackle tour's tests, but the curado is still a curado...

There's nothing wrong with the quality of any of those three reels. It comes down to personal preference and features for the price. The clearance Revos are mostly blown out but you may find one and get a good bang for your buck. There are still Citica E's available at clearance prices. There is nothing wrong with the new Curado. Again, just a change in features from the E series which allowed Shimano to keep the Curado as a reasonably priced workhorse reel.

Curado.

Hey LMG, I think I might be in trouble. I work at BPS in the fishing dept., part time. Monday I was working behind the counter, and everytime there was a lull in activity, I would take the Chronarch out of the display case and play around with it. Awesome reel. I dont need another reel. Furthermore, when I buy reels, I always buy two. Man thats $400.00, NO discount.

So with all the banter about shimano (still small s), I feel this is partly your fault. So its up to you to talk me back to my senses. Lol

Sorry, cant do it. Join the rest of us tards who fish SHIMANO. Buyer beware, its a bad drug to get hooked on! Seriously though, its a great reel. Be it that its an refind Curado, its a must have for the arsenal.

Don't waste your time or money, buy a used E or a STX

Or go to Ebay and buy a new Lews T or TP

DO NOT PUT HOT SAUCE IN YOUR SHIMANO REEL! That is unless you are going to completely clean and remove all of Shimano's oil and grease. They are made from different compounds and will actually separate if you mix them and you're reel will not work very well after.
