brushhoggin Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 crawfish pork trailers. i was obsessed with gettin these in the mail this past weekend and gave em a try yesterday. Now i know someone gave some insight last week on here about rigging techniques but i couldn't find the thread to read it again. it rotates around the hook too much when i just hook it through the hook slit as opposed to threading it which is impossible.some one mentioned using a small piece of plastic off a worm or something to hold it in place? help and thanks in advance Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted January 20, 2010 Super User Posted January 20, 2010 Back in the day, I used pork trailers, a lot. The trick is to use a piece of plastic worm, just long enough to cover the straight portion of the jig hook. Thread it on the hook, just like you'd rig a grub, leaving the bend of the hook open and the shank covered. This keeps the pork located in the bend and prevents it sliding up the shank. Quote
brushhoggin Posted January 20, 2010 Author Posted January 20, 2010 got you. 50 views. finally, Ghoti saves the day. appreciate it Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted January 20, 2010 Super User Posted January 20, 2010 When you're talking pork, you're talkin old school. It toke an old fart to answer the question. Quote

RT Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Which trailer did you go with? You have got to check out the Uncle Josh Maxx Pork trailers if you haven't already. Super soft and the claws float very well! Through the Uncle Josh site, you can get Fire Tipped claws that are awesome! If you thread the Maxx Pork on one of their Bass Stalker Jigs, it has a keeper that holds the pork in place. No other jig like it! First bend the keeper down a bit. Then when you go to thread something on it, push it up a little, thread the pork and let go of the keeper. It will push back down and hook into the pork or any other trailer for that matter. No more super glue or chunks of rubber worms! Very Cool! Good luck and tight lines! Quote
brushhoggin Posted January 21, 2010 Author Posted January 21, 2010 Uncle Josh Pork Frog Crawdad Brown and Phantom Craw Watermelon Red Flake. unfortunately i didnt get the maxx ones. i have been in the market for trailers that float more than the average trailer, i'll have to jump on that site and pick some up. No! i cant, its not in my budget. (monkey dialect) "oh but you can order just three jars, who knows, you may land Nadine and her sisters with it!!!"...I know you're right bait monkey :'( Quote
