We've been here 3 months in Kuwait and haven't seen a single wild animal and finally today after a loud scream and then a squish sound we had our first scorpion. Im kinda mad cuz I love scorpions always have im fascinated by them so much I have a tattoo of one that spans from my shoulder down past my elbow. Well they killed the thing with out hesitation. I woulda tried keeping it as a pet lol or at least escorted it out side and over the wall.

Makes ya wonder though how many more are in here this one was found in the middle of our bay we all sleep in it cam from under a guys bunk.

Fattail scorpion or fat-tailed scorpion is the common name given to scorpions of the genus Androctonus, which is one of the most dangerous groups of scorpions species in the world.[1] They are found throughout the semi-arid and arid regions of the Middle-East and Africa.[1] They are a moderate sized scorpion, attaining lengths of 10 cm (just under 4 in).[2] Their common name is derived from their distinctly fat metasoma, or tail, while the Latin name originates from Greek and means "man killer".[2] Their venom contains powerful neurotoxins and is especially potent.[1] Stings from Androctonus species are known to cause several human deaths each year.[1]

yup I read that also makes them all that more intriguing to catch now i guess guys in the other platoon have caught a bunch of them out by one of the towers during the night QRF shift along with hedge hogs and seen a few fox. I did some research and found out all kinds of stuff here in Kuwait i had no clue they have grey wolves but there was one shot by a fisherman last December just before we got here.

I'd be doing the same thing. Is there any kind of bait you can use to attract them?

Not a bad idea to check your shoes before you put them on.

I got one in my bedroom closet about a month ago. how it made it upstairs I dunno.

They are easy to find at night if you have a black light, they glow, just turn rocks over and you can spot them easier than in the day. Are black lights standard issue?

That would be an awesome pet. I'll bet they are as fun and aggressive as the spiders I used to have. Arachnids and scorpions can be some awesome pers. Just don't handle it without the "boxing glove" on its stinger.
