I am going to my fathers for the 4th for my sisters b-day. Terrapin Creek runs through his yard. The water is always cold in this creek and he says there is good fishing there. What would you recommend using there with the water being so cool and it being so hot? Not a lot of moss or anything there...just a limb down and a plant in the water every now and then. Water is moving but has regular pools where it slows considerably. Thanks everyone.

If the water's that cold, I would try ultralight gear and appropriate lures to start, and see if there are any trout or suckers in it. Pretty much all stream fish I've come across respond well to teeny crayfish imitations (like the Trout Slayer) and tiny little twister tails in natural colors, fished on light jig heads and 4-6 lb line.

Lots of sucker fish in this creek. My father had set out a trap in a pool to relocate a bunch of fish that have gotten trapped due to the water level dropping. I looked in the trap and it was mainly suckers and a few brim. I went on down the creek and used a buzz bait and a rooster tail. I caught a few red eye bass and a small large mouth. My nephew wanted to fish but hasnt figured out how to cast yet. He had a senko already on his rod so I was just casting it for him and letting him reel it in. Believe it or not he caught one. Hes 2 small to really set the hook so when he got it to the bank it got off but he had a blast.
