Has anyone bought a rod from the "bargain room" on St Croix's site?

I'm looking to get a crank rod and they have a 6'6" Premier glass rod which list's for 120.00 on sale for 84.00.

I'm guessing that the premier is St.Croix's lower end model and I really wanted a 7 ft , but for 84.00 it got me thinking.

I wouldn't spend a penny on any crankbait rod that is shorter than 7'5. Maybe 7', but I doubt it.

My only suggestion is this. If not fishing in tight quarters where a shorter rod is necessary, then go with a 7' or longer rod for the greater casting distance. $84 is a good deal if you like the rod and use it, but is a poor purchase if you decide after using it awhile that you really should have gone with the longer rod. A rod only becomes expensive when it sits in your closet instead of being used.

My fishing buddy and his wife both use St Croix rods. He started with a 7' MH Premier and threw everything with this one rod. It may be their lower model, but it is still an excellent rod for the money.

EDIT: I see Bassn Blvd is a faster typer than me!

I've never owned a St. Croix and thought I'd check thier site to check them out a little closer.

I saw that bargain room link and went Hmmmm

I guess my real question was has anyone bought anything from the bargain room, and I used the crank rod sale as an example of what seems like a good deal.

But you guy's are right of course and I knew it when I was typing last night.

Thanks for keeping that d@**m monkey off me!!

Granted the crankbait rod they're selling might be a little on the shorter side, but if anyone is in the market for a quality stick (or sticks) at a Very Reasonable price, several of the other rods they are offering in the Bargain Room could fit the bill.

Many are under 80 bucks for a rod that was Much Much more that that a year or so ago.

Just saying.

I bought two rods from St Croix's bargain room this year. No problems, their shipping was very fast, the rods were perfect; not seconds, so put your mind at ease.

I've had to force myself to stay away. I don't really need any more rods. Really.

AH, ^$#@%^&^$# I'm gonna have to go look again.

Not a knock on their product but I didn't like the way the rods were listed on the site. At least in the saltwater section I did not notice the line or lure weights listed on the rods offered.

Its the same for FW. No length, action, or ratings. It appears you have to know what you want to buy before going there. :(. Which does me no good as I have no clue what their brands are.

X2

I went to other sites that are still selling them at the regular price.

The rod specs are available there.
