I need an excellent quality 2-piece spinning and 2-piece casting rod. Everyone seems to have their reviews and rod of the year though I haven't found anyone that includes a 2-piece in these reviews. If top fly fishing poles can break down into 4-pieces then there has to be someone that makes an excellent 2-piece rod. Please help, I appreciate your feedback.

My favorite rod is my 8' St Croix Avid ML Mod 2pc spinning rod. Its never given me any issues at the connection it solid and it gets taken apart after every outing and over 4 years of use. Sensitivity is not hindered one bit comparing it to my other 1pc rods. This particular model feels great in hand and only 3.6ozs. Its been basically an all-purpose rod from crappie to catfish, small crankbaits-Bitsy minnows KVD 1.0, small jigs-bitsy bugs, senkos 4"-5", and spinnerbaits.

If 2pc is something that will benifit you travel wise storage dont hesitate to get a quality 2pc rod.

Actually picked up a couple of 2 pieces for my future travels to Boston, and South Carolina. Nothing really impressive, but for $15 you cant go wrong. They are Daiwa graphite rods that I picked up from Dicks on sale. The price was right, and they seem to be very sturdy. Only time will tell. Gt a 6'6 M, and a 7'0 MH

Not to sure what amount you are looking to spend, or what your interpretation of a ''quality rod'' is, but to me some of the very best 2 piece rods are made by St. Croix. The legend elite lineup has plenty of really nice 2 piece spinning rods. As for casting it is very hard to find a nice casting rod in the $200 plus price point that is 2 pieces at the same time.

Don't know if I would put them in the "excellent" catagory but Abu Veritas is available in both two piece spinning and casting models.

Shiimano makes decent 2piece rods in their clarus and compre lines. The former has both casting and spinning while the latter only has spinning. I would also look into the Damiki rods at Tackle WArehouse. They not only look good, but also are nicely priced.
